    # LLUF asynchronous Challenge: Time Markers in HDP Student Interviews One of the core components of the TDM90DR film project is the "before and after" student interviews. At the beginnnig of the semester, students were interviewed at the LL and asked about their dance backgrounds, interests, philosophies, and goals. Now having completed the course, we are bring students back in for a second round of interviews to watch back their old interviews and share (on camera) how their feelings and ideas have since grown/shifted. We take inspiration for this portion of the project from [Billie Eilish's 1-year-apart Vanity Fair Interviews.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cm0MGnuRnH0) Before those second round of interviews happen, we need to edit their original interviews into a format that they can easily watch back. The first steps to these edits are to create time markers for when particular questions are asked. This is the challenge you'll be helping with! ## the steps * Find the student interview project in Final Cut * Ask Luke, Casey, Marlon, Jordan, or Christine for the following drives: * TDM90DR Final Cut Libraries * TDM90DR LL Footage (you will need to reference this footage in FCXP) * In the () drive, open up "HDP Film" FCXP Library * In the events in the top left, click on "Edits". You will find a series of projects, and the ones you will be working on say "Interview-1-(name)" ![](https://i.imgur.com/lmdf7vv.png) Choose one of the students that have not yet been time-marked (completed) and click on their project. See whose interview has not yet been marked here: | Student Interview | Completed | by (Your name) | | -------------------- | --------- | -------------- | | Interview 1-Riya | Yes | Matilda M | | Interview 1-Adrienne | Yes | Matilda M | | Interview 1-Ale | Yes | Matilda M | | Interview 1-Daniel | Yes | Matilda M | | Interview 1-Daylan | Yes | Matilda M | | Interview 1-Julia | Yes | Matilda M | | Interview 1-Nia | Yes | Jessi S | | Interview 1-Osazi | Yes | Victoria | | Interview 1- Valeria | Yes | Victoria | Once you're in the project of the student interview you've selected, you should see a single multiclip in the timeline. This is the clip you'll be marking! With headphones, listen & watch the clip and identify when an interview question is asked. The interview questions are found below: | Interview Questions: | | -------- | | Name "My name is x, and I'm a student in Harvard Dance Project Spring 2022." | | Briefly describe your dance/choreographic background | | Briefly describe who you are as an artist today | | Briefly describe who you are as an artist in the future | | Briefly describe your own movement | | What/Who inspires your dance? | | How does your dance practice interact with your others interests or studies? | | What, if any, is your responsibility as an artist? | | As a dance artist, what kind of choreographic processes do you like? | | Do you have any experience with choreographing? If so, what do you like about choreographing? | | What does artistic courage mean to you? | | How does your identity as a dance artist interact with your other identites? | | What does it mean to be an artist? | ** Note: Some of the interviews will have questions skipped or additional questions that are not found above. ** * Create time markers that align with interview questions * When you come across an interview question being asked, drag the scrubber to the point of the clip where the question begins * Press "m" ont he keyboard. A small purple marker will appear * Double click the marker to name it as the question asked (found above) ![alt text](https://files.slack.com/files-pri/T0HTW3H0V-F03CSU5J5U1/ezgif.com-gif-maker__42_.gif?pub_secret=febff61f79) * Go through the rest of the interview and mark each interview question * When finished, scroll up in this MarkDown and mark the interview as completed and put your name under "by (your name)" If you have time, go on to the next interview and do it all again!
