# Mumble guide

For best results, **use headphones** and **push-to-talk**.
Ask mix for the server name

## Android

1. Install [Plumble](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.morlunk.mumbleclient.free) from the Google Play store (free)
2. Add a new mumble server:
- Hit the `+` to add a new server
- Add these details (other details can be left as they are)
- a _Label_ for the server (e.g. celServer)
- _Address_ for the server : `serverName.com`
- _Username_ (e.g. dan)
- hit the `ADD` button
3. click on the newly made card entry
- it will show "Connecting to ..."
- you will see your name in the 'Lobby'

**Set up push-to-talk:**
1. click the `...` in the top right
2. click `Transmit Mode`
3. click `Push to Talk`
4. notice the new `PUSH TO TALK` button at the bottom of the screen. Push it and you should see the microphone next to your name light up red.

**Disconnecting** (hanging up):
1. click the `...` in the top right
2. click `Disconnect`

**Going into a room (we shouldn't need this):**
1. click on a the room name e.g. `SSBC`
2. click on the `=>` arrow near the top and notice your name move under the room name

## Linux

1. Install the application
- Ubuntu : `sudo apt-get install mumble`
- Other distros https://wiki.mumble.info/wiki/Installing_Mumble#Linux (note you don't need Murmur, that's a server)
- If you want a super recent release check out that link and add the mumble apt-repository
2. Start Mumble and run through the wizard
- this can take 5-10 mins
3. Add a new server:
- In menus, click `Server > Connect`
- Click `Add New...` button
- Add these details (other details can be left as they are)
- a _Label_ for the server (e.g. celServer)
- _Address_ for the server : `serverName.com`
- _Username_ (e.g. dan)
- ok
4. select the newly added server and hit the `Connect` button

**Set up push-to-talk:**
1. change transmit mode:
- In menus, click `Configure > Settings`
- In the `Audio Input` domain (left bar), find the Transmission section
- Change the dropdown to `Push to Talk`
2. set you talk button
- (still in settings) got to the `Shortcuts` domain
- If there isn't already a "Push to Talk" shorcut, hit the `Add` button
- click in the Function column and select "Push to talk"
- click in the Shortcut columm then hit the key you want for push to talk (e.g. Right-Shift)
3. Apply / OK the settings

## Mac / Win

1. get an install from https://www.mumble.com/
2. use same config as described above
