Think about the final goal. Your goal is to understand how PTP works based on the source code provided on the Internet.
It means that you need to know
1. how the PTP program works and
2. what are the meaning of the configurable parameters of the PTP program
3. what are the files provided by the open source code
4. what is the function implemented by each file
5. where is the function defined in the specification
6. how does each function work and implemented in the file

If you know your goal clearly, you should be able to define your deliverables as clear as possible.

1. Draw a figure showing HOW two or more machines can sync with each other using PTP. The figure should, at least, indicate
- the network topology containing the machines and the network
- the key terms used in PTP
- the messages exchanged between two machines using PTP
- a table listing the main configurable parameters for the PTP executable
2. A list of files provided by the PTP open source project

#### Hint:
1. Try to use figures to show the concepts you learned.
2. Your study note should be used to help the other new students to learn the same topic. Your credit is the time the others can save.
3. Try to prepare it from a mentor's perspevtive. Use the minimum time to figure out the key idea and keep only the essential information in your note.

#### Purpose of the Training:
I hope you can learn the key issues needed in your future job.
- Get a job assignment (e.g. PTP).
- Breakdown the final goal into small steps.
- Identify the deliverable for each step.
- Find out the solution by yourself.
- Ues minimum time to reach your goal.
- Share your experience/knowledge with the others using your studying note.

It's like to find a meaning of a word from a dictionary. You need to know what you are looking for before taking action.

I saw that you have a good progress. Some issues:
1. Try to list all the messages defined in the standard. In the latter part, you need to show us WHICH of the messages are defined in the open source code; WHERE is the code implemented the message; and WHAT is the key parameters used in the source code?
2. One-step and two-step procedures are important for PTP. Did you read it?
3. Try to enhance the correlation between your studying note by adding some hyperlinks. For example, you may show us WHAT is the PTP version supported by the LinuxPTP? WHICH functions are implemented?
