The Dodgers, who ignored '4 home runs as starters', did not qualify as NL champions..

In Game 3 of the National League Division Series against the Diamondbacks in the 2023 Major League Postseason held at Chase Field in Arizona, USA on the 12th (Korean time), starting pitcher Lance Lynn hit four

solo home runs in the bottom of the third inning. The Dodgers bench was unable to find the right time to replace the pitcher and just watched until the Diamondbacks ran away with a 4-point gap.

Lin allowed a go-ahead solo home run to leadoff hitter Heraldo Perdomo in the bottom of the third inning with the game tied 0-0. He caught the next batter, Corbin Carroll, with a grounder to second base. After one out, Ketel Marte allowed another home run.

It was time for a replacement. The Dodgers already lost games 1 and 2. If I lost here, it was the end. Dodgers manager David Roberts trusted Lin again.

Lynn continued his close pitching by blocking Tommy Pham with a grounder to second base. I wondered if the fire on the Diamondbacks' bat would be extinguished like this.

But no. Lin hit another home run off the next batter, Christian Walker. The cut fastball thrown in the unfavorable count of 3 balls and 1 strike was centered.

The Dodgers bench didn't budge. Catcher Will Smith only visited the mound briefly. Lynn hit another home run from Gabriel Moreno. A foul home run hit with 2 balls and 1 strike was corrected from a home run to a foul after video review, and it seemed like life was saved, but he hit a home run again to the point that the replay was meaningless.

The Dodgers replaced the pitcher with Caleb Ferguson only when the score was 0-4.

The Dodgers, who had been scoreless, scored a run in the top of the 7th inning. After two outs, Max Muncy and Smith hit consecutive hits. With 2 outs and runners on first and second base, Chris Taylor and Enrique Hernández hit consecutive timely hits to make it 2-4.

That was it. The Diamondbacks brought up closer Paul Seewald in the top of the 9th inning, leading 4-2. Seewald sent Smith out on a hit with one out. Chris Taylor's batted ball headed deep into right-center, but he received help from Lake Rain. Seewald completed the series sweep by hitting Enrique Hernández with a fly ball to left field.
