- Yarik would like to move to www.bids-standard.org. Steering group says yes.
- INCF is happening _after_ EBRAINS at same venue(?). Cyril brought up BIDS presence.
- Cyril and Franco are going to be there. Rather than spend the money to fly a maintainer out there, Cyril would rather keep it to use for a maintainers meeting next year.
- Camille: Not clear what event will look like and what BIDS presence they expect. Based on current understanding, Cyril and Franco should be enough, but they will reach out.
- A table is not being discussed. Cyril+Franco want to do a poster or talk instead.
- Re datatype discussion- Cyril wants to know what the maintainers think. Franco proposes that the decision be made by either the maintainers or the community. Kim asked the SG to look at the existing issue and PRs and bring their succinct points to the next meeting.

- Or sentiment analysis of existing issues to see what involved community members think.

### Copenhagen reflections

Anthony: +1day more to work on a BEP next time would be good
- successful, goals achieved and included more europeans
- dedicated coffee machines were key

Nell: format and length were good, balance of discussion vs working time was good

Yahya: [issue 52](https://github.com/openneuropet/outreach/issues/52) is great for tracking what was done

CR: good format, block for PRs was good
- could do more: distributing notetaking, setting action items, thinking ahead re track PRs/issues/productivity from meeting, maybe compressing agenda-setting
- interesting governance point on decisions made based on attendees in the room

Eric: Overall I found it very valuable and good, but I do have some critiques.
- Agreed with Anthony there should be minimum 1.5 days dedicated to helping BEPs get unstuck. Seattle meeting had more of this.
- Agreed with Nell the balance of discussion and working time was good, though I think more working time would be even better
- "Decisions" made in this meeting should be brought to the community afterward, perhaps as a meeting summary provided to contributors after the fact with room for further online discussion
- Perhaps similar to the OHBM Brainhacks, we should have "train vs hack tracks" except ours would be "Discuss vs Co-work tracks". The discussions held in-person were very valuable, but often didn't require everyone in the room. Big discussions should be opt-in or phone-a-friend style instead of opt-out by leaving the room or ignoring the discussion.
- I found the no "meals and incidental expenses" reimbursement restrictive and less enjoyable. That said, I know I wasn't there for tourism. It just would have been nice to not have to eat meals all in the hotel to save on my out-of-pocket costs.

1. Psych-DS has made good progress. They're going to coordinate with Eric because of BEP036 and may be bringing Psych-DS datasets to BIDS or BIDS tabular phenotypes to Psych-DS.
2. **Response to MED regarding new format**: Camille and Dora are going to re-open this as an asynchronous discussion on the Mattermost ~bids_steer_and_maintain.
3. **OHBM Business**: Eric to talk with James Kent about what BIDS they want at the OHBM OSR in Brisbane. Maybe "A speaker to present on the current state of BIDS. Are there any members going to OHBM and would be willing to give an accessible overview for the current state of BIDS? This will be the first opening event for the Open Science Room." Might be Kim since her and Franco are going.
4. **Maintainers need more members recruited**: First small asks before big invites, BUT we maintainers need to update the website with a description of the minimum commitment/expectations as well as benefits and reasons to join. Yarik started [bids-spec issue 2113 here](https://github.com/bids-standard/bids-specification/issues/2113) as well.

- Peer and Oscar cannot make it in-person, maybe available remotely for some discussions.
- Cyril booked rooms with the hotel and, supposedly, it's in a block of names and we tell them our name when we show up to get our room.

The BIDS documentation points to a matlab function that acknowledges this field is often missing and suggests assigning the ReconMatrixPE value https://github.com/JosePMarques/MP2RAGE-related-scripts/blob/a405df30ac2c617d29d8b1b16025aaa911e86370/func/bids_T1B1correct.m#L16. If ReconMatrixPE is a suitable surrogate, why require the NumberShots field? or if ReconMatrixPE available no need to have NumberShots
2. [RepetitionTimeExcitation](https://bids-specification.readthedocs.io/en/stable/appendices/qmri.html#other-metadata-fields). Related topic: https://github.com/rordenlab/dcm2niix/issues/439. Again, BIDS documentation acknowledges that this is often not found in the DICOM files. The documentation indicates this field value is equivalent to EchoSpacing and if missing, 2 times EchoTime can be used as a surrogate. Same logic as before. If this is equivalent to EchoSpacing, could it work to require one or the other of these two fields?
3. [RepetitionTimePreparation](https://bids-specification.readthedocs.io/en/stable/glossary.html#repetitiontimepreparation-metadata). Conversations going back to 2020 mention this field (https://github.com/bids-standard/bep001/issues/88). Again, it is acknowledged that this is commonly absent from DICOM files, yet there is little support for how to assign this parameter in the common instance of its absence. I have no idea where this can be found. This is mentioned once in the spec without definition (only in the table https://bids-specification.readthedocs.io/en/stable/appendices/qmri.html#anatomy-imaging-data) maybe the glossary can copy/paste info on that field from qmrilab (rather than only link, which we can control if it will stay that link https://qmrlab.readthedocs.io/en/master/protocols.html#mp2rage). Interestingly, the schema (https://bids-specification.readthedocs.io/en/stable/glossary.html#repetitiontimepreparation-metadata) says minimum 0 (which I interpret as do not need present ??) but it is mandatory for MP2RAGE and not for other much longer 4D time series (DWI, fMRI, ASL). Note also that this value is not used when computing the T1/R1 maps, and I such I am really doubful of the mandatoriness of this.

- Tentative schedule is Weds, Thurs, Friday : May 7-8-9 2025 (Copenhagen or else Seattle - AG following up)
- Dates: April 30th, May 7th, May ?th, (will check with Copenhagen folks for which weeks are best)
- Who gets Invited? budget dependent
- Theme ? what euro-bids stuff is worth gathering for?
- Opening the meeting ? maybe not
