Travel organizer - plan trips with friends and integrate with airbnb api for bookings etc. 4. social fitness planner that displays relevant info like weather, good gyms, running paths, courts for a specific sport, etc, also has calendar and messaging so friends can plan to workout together 5. language matching app - matches ppl wanting to practice with similar interests, or matches language students to immigrants in community ## New App Ideas - Evaluate and Categorize 1. Better version of ratemyprofessors - **Description**: An app that lets students comment on their daily experiences in a class/with a professor. Other students can see and learn more about the class/professor - **Category:** Social and/or Educational? - **Mobile:** Because of the frequency of use, this app needs to be easy to access. Also, in school it's easier for students to use their phones rather than their computers (for the most part) - **Market:** Any school district or individual classroom teacher of any grade could utilize this app. District wide licensing and custom features could be used for monetization. - **Habit:** Teachers are using this constantly throughout the school day. Students are using the app daily to check their performance and cash in on rewards. - **Scope:** V1 would allow teachers to access a roster of students and input behavior logs. Could actually be tested by a real teacher with a class of students. V2 would incorporate a student facing version for students to see their performance. V3 would add a way for students to earn and obtain rewards for goals met. V4 would incorporate a parent facing version. 2. Social dance app - **Description**: A dance app that has a youtube aspect w/ vids and tutorials, and a social aspect with sharing own vids - **Category:** Social - **Mobile:** Since most people take videos with their phone, it's way more convenient to post directly from the phone rather than using a computer - **Market:** Dancers, dance communities, people who just want to see cool dances - **Habit:** Since users can also browse other dance videos, this app has the potential to be used for long periods of time - **Scope:** Medium scope. Users must be able to post dance videos and look at other videos, but the scope can widen with additional features, such as integration with Spotify API (for automatic background music), adding counts, automatic mirroring of videos, or including an explore page 3. Travel organizer - **Description**: An app that allows users to organize a trip and have a visualized itinerary - **Category:** Travel + (social?) - **Mobile:** Essentially google docs, but presented in a format that is organized in a way to view bookings, transportation, event booking, etc. - **Market:** Anyone who is actively going on a trip or wants to plan one - **Habit:** Only use when necessary, however if there was a feature to share high-level itineraries for others to see then a browsing section could be added to look at trips that other people have planned and find inspiration / copy events - **Scope:** Medium scope. The basic integration of airbnb api, hotel booking, and flight api is fairly straightfoward, but when adding additional social features the scope widens. 4. Social fitness planner - **Description**: App that lets people plan workouts together. Has messaging platform and calendar to plan workouts, also displays relevant info like weather, good gyms, running paths, courts for a specific sport. - **Category:** Fitness + social - **Mobile:** Convenient to bring with you to workouts to communicate. Sends notifications & reminders about your messages and events. - **Market:** Anyone who exercises - **Habit:** Users can open app to communicate with others to organize workouts, and to find helpful information to faciliate that planning. - **Scope:** Medium scope: incorporates messaging, calendar, and outside information. Could be expanded for more social aspects - sharing favorite fitness workouts / media, giving feedback and encouragement, challenges, competitions, etc. 5. Language matching app - **Description**: An app that matches people wanting to practice with similar interests, or matches language students to immigrants in community - **Category:** Education + social - **Mobile:** May depend on location to match users with people near them - **Market:** People seeking to learn a foreign language alongside others with similar interests, or in student/immigrant groups - **Habit:** Use when looking to practice language - responding to messages, joining pre-planned calls, looking for more people to talk with, etc. - **Scope:** Medium scope: involes making profiles, implementing a matching process, and possible dealing with location
