# [The Zombies are Coming](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HsP5ON4lgO0) Highly recommend listening to this while reading: https://youtu.be/9gMdiWFD7ZU?si=WY0a91Fl5nqrYATj There are currently no plans to include this as a full event. This is a disease that can be given out by admins for events, most interactions are planned with this in mind. I've also tried to keep most of this document in an IC-like format, for funsies. If you have any questions, please reach out to me on discord at @contrabang # What is a Zombie? "Zombies" are an undead creature, typically corpses of humanoids that spread via a disease known as "Necotizing Plague". This virus slowly transforms the victim into a shambling corpse within an hour. There are 7 current stages official documented by medical professionals. 1. The first stage seems like a normal virus, with itchiness of the skin or fleshing being the primary symptom. 2. Infected in the second stage may notice that they feel more hungry than normal, and an excess of mucous. 3. Infected note a strong sense of hunger, along with sneezing and coughing. 4. Infected begin to drool, and stare at nearby humans. Doctors have noted a noticable body temperature drop in victims at this point. 5. Infected begin to lose control of themselves. Skin begins to burn in reaction to harsh lighting. 6. Same symptoms as Stage 5 victims. Infected individuals may begin to lash out against those in nearby contact. Notably, the flesh of the infected begins to rot away. 7. The last stage, once all the flesh has rotted, the individual loses all control of themselves and begins to hunger for flesh of non-infected individuals, particularly brains, along with a self-regeneration of flesh. This virus has shown to not only be able to survive in dead humanoids, but it actually increases the acceleration of the rotting stage. This virus is also slower than most viruses. Most have a 4% chance to increase the stage every 2 seconds, this virus has a 1% chance to increase the stage. # Zombie Combat Specifications Because of their degraded nature, Zombies are slower than other humanoids. They also do not have the ability to pick up any items, due to their rotted away hands. However abilities like martial arts, or implants that place items directly into their hands may still work (I fucking love Halo's flood if you can't tell). The prime idea of this is warden zombies who will be able to use Krav Maga. Zombie individuals have the ability to grow claws from their hands. These claws are covered in a secretion that allows the virus to spread by cutting into the skin. However, this infection is very weak and can be prevented by Anti-Plague Sequence Alpha or Spaceacillin in their systems during the time of infection. If spread, the new virus begins at stage 1. Zombie claws can deal out 21 damage, enough for them to break down doors, but they have negative armor penetration. Riot armor is a great deterrant, as armor can also block the infecting scratches of zombies. Biohazard gear, like biosuits are also adept at blocking these scratch infections. However, zombies are also known to bite to spread the infection. However, they require an aggressive grab before biting. This bite can go through most forms of armor. This includes riot gear and biohazard equipment. However, this bite can be blocked by puncture immune gear, such as security and medical ERT hardsuits. Best advice is to not stand near a zombie. These bite infections tend to spread the virus at a higher stage, typically stage 3 or 4. Zombies have a strong regenerative system, allowing them to rise from the dead, given enough time. For a zombie to regenerate, it must have a low amount of brute and fire damage, and to have been dead for 30 seconds. This means that external forms of damage such as toxins or oxygen damage are okay at taking it down, but will not keep it down. Sources of fire may be excellent at keeping the regenerative form of the zombie at bay. Zombies also seem to have a much stronger healing factor in the dark, but their eyes do not have night vision. Lastly, zombies are known expecially of their desire for brains. Their claws seem to be specialized in cracking open the skulls of their victims. If the victim's skull, or whatever is holding their brain is completely damaged, they will be able to dig their claws into the victim and crack their head (or chest) open. Zombies are then able to use their hands to eat the brains of their victims, even if theyre still alive. This process is quite grueling, so it is not recommend that anyone has their brains eaten. This is also a guaranteed way of spreading the infection at stage 5. This will also induce brain death, meaning that the infection rot will go much quickly than normal. Abnormally, they also seem to take more damage from certain plant-based weaponry. So remember, gatfruit is your friend. They are also have 50% resistance to stamina attacks, but they are not immune to it, and their revive won't free them from cuffs. # The Cure Unlike most viruses, this virus cannot be cured in one step. According to "Plague and You: Curing the Apocalypse" by *Cleanses-The-Plague* (This a manual containing all this info in game, but it appears nowhere on station by default.), "There are 4 tiers of "cures" for the plague, these are referred to as "Anti-Plague Sequences". By combining chemicals with the plague and viral symptoms, more advanced sequences can be created. These sequences are M-RNA that alters protein synthesis of plague-infected individuals and alter B-lymphocytes to induce specific anti-bodies, countering the effects of the virus." The final cure can only be achieved through grueling but rewarding research into the specific strain. Cleanses-The-Plague denotes this, "There sequences are classified into 4 categories: Alpha, Beta, Gamma, and Omega. Alpha is the simplest, but weakest. Omega is the most difficult to make as it requires all previous sequences and advanced chemicals. Since each of zombie strains are unique, there is no known recipe for these, and will require experimentation." However, several researchers have compiled chemicals that are commonly found in these cures. However, once a sequence has been discovered, it can be duplicated by combining it with sulfonal and sugar. These cures also have a slow metabolization rate. # Cure Recipes THIS IS A WIP SECTION. DATA HERE MAY BE SUBJECT TO CHANGE. Each strain of the plague is unique, and will require unique recipes in order to cure them. Anti-Plague Sequence Alpha
1 unit of blood containing any zombie plague

1 unit of Diphenhydramine
Anti-Plague Sequence Beta

1 unit of blood containing zombie plague cured by Anti-Plague Sequence Alpha

2 random chemicals from the list below, 1 unit of each (Unknown Random Recipe)

Yellow Vomit

Space fungus

Jenkem

Charcoal

Egg

Saline-Glucose Solution

Toxin

Atropine

Lye

Sulphuric acid

Fluorosulfuric Acid

Soda Water

Surge

Ultra-Lube

Happiness

Morphine

Anti-Plague Sequence Gamma

1 unit of blood containing zombie plague cured by Anti-Plague Sequence Beta

1 unit of blood containing an advanced virus with the "Necrotizing Fasciitis" symptom

3 random chemicals from the list below, 1 unit of each (Unknown Random Recipe)

Colorful Reagent

Bacchus' Blessing

Pentetic Acid

Teporone

Glyphosate

Lazarus Reagent

Omnizine

Sarin

Mitocholide

Ants

Chlorine Trifluoride

Sorium

"????" This cure prevents infection from scratches while in system of the user, and can cure stage 1 infections. Anti-Plague Sequence Beta Anti-Plague Sequence Beta is the second anti-viral, and is more complex to make. This sequence has been shown to cure infections that are stage 3 or below. This sequence is sometimes able to cure bites from infected individuals. It also severely decreases the damage done by zombie claws, making them weaker and unable to break down doors. Anti-Plague Sequence Gamma Anti-Plague Sequence Gamma is the third anti-viral. This sequence is difficult to manufacture, but is rewarding. It cures all infections that are stage 5 and below, and stops the effects of stage 6 infections, but will not cure stage 6 infections. This helps prevent the rotting of living people into the rotting and shambling corpses of zombies. Anti-Plague Sequence Omega Anti-Plague Sequence Omega is the full cure for the zombie plague. This advanced mix of viral symptoms and chemicals is the final cure for any Advanced Resurection Virus. This cure prevents zombies from reviving when in their system, and will slowly return their body to normal, non-infected state. This also prevents any zombies from rising from the dead. However, it will still be metabolized even if the zombie is dead, so it can't be used to keep them down forever!
