# Announcement: CDF Chinese Localization SIG

Since the [Jenkins Chinese Localization SIG](https://github.com/jenkins-infra/jenkins.io/pull/1718) was created by
[Zheng Shenyu](https://github.com/cizezsy), [Li LianQiang](https://github.com/xuesea), and [me](https://github.com/linuxsuren) in 2018, it is exciting that there are always passionate contributors joining us. Unfortunately, I didn't find a way to list all of them, but you still can get a partial list from some important git repositories: [cn.jenkins.io](https://github.com/jenkins-infra/cn.jenkins.io/graphs/contributors), [jenkins-zh](https://github.com/jenkins-zh/jenkins-zh/graphs/contributors). For all those lovely people, I want to say a BIG thanks to you. Because of you, now there're over 16k followers from [WeChat](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WeChat), over 11k hits of [Jenkins tutorial videos](https://www.bilibili.com/video/BV1fp4y1r7Dd), and 55k installs of the [Jenkins Simplified Chinese plugin](https://plugins.jenkins.io/localization-zh-cn/).

As we can see, a Localization SIG can play an important role in uniting the community, end-users, and potential contributors. More and more companies or teams believe that DevOps adoption and improvement are crucial for them. Many awesome projects choose to join [CDF](https://cd.foundation/) which is the vendor-neutral home, such as [Jenkins](https://www.jenkins.io/), [Jenkins X](https://jenkins-x.io/), [Spinnaker](https://spinnaker.io), and [Tekton](https://tekton.dev/). As an open-source evangelist, the most meaningful thing might be promoting great open-source projects, so why don't we promote all the projects under CDF?

The proposal of creating [CDF Chinese Localization SIG](https://github.com/cdfoundation/toc/pull/75) was already accepted by CDF's TOC, and is already ongoing with [Mike](https://github.com/majinghe) and [me](https://github.com/linuxsuren) as co-chairs, a few [members](https://github.com/cdfoundation/sig-chinese-localization#members), and with the support from [Oleg Nenashev](https://github.com/oleg-nenashev) as the TOC sponsor of this SIG, I believe we can achieve a great outcome.

该 SIG 会作为一个中文用户（开发者）和全球社区之间的“桥梁”，及时把社区项目的最新动态、特性、规划等同步给中文用户，
