# Fedora DEI Team backlog review (Pagure to GitLab migration)
This document is an organizing doc created by @rowright to sort through our Pagure tickets and make decisive actions on what to do with the Pagure tickets as we move to GitLab.
## Proposed actions
All the tickets below should be given one of three possible outcomes:
1. Move to DEI Home on GitLab
2. Move to DEI Initiatives on GitLab
3. Close and do not migrate to GitLab

### ~~Issue #140: Compiling a list of Fedora contributors from underrepresented groups interested in speaking opportunities~~
URL: https://pagure.io/fedora-diversity/issue/140
Created by: bee2502 (Bhagyashree Padalkar)
Created on: Saturday, Jul 11, 2020
Latest comment: Is this list meant to be public or for Fedora internal use (e.g. for inviting Fedora people to speak at Fedora conferences?)
- Disposition: (Close, Move)
- New Assignee:
* **JWF**: There was a safety concern expressed in the past about whether we would be creating both a speaker list and a "DEI hit list" by trolls and troublemakers. That said, there is still a need for something like this, but the safety and privacy concerns are real. Especially in a privacy-minded community as Linux distros often are. I think it is better to close than to delegate as a long-term objective, sadly. But I could be convinced otherwise.

### ~~Issue #243: Could Fedora Accessibility be a DEI Objective in the Council?~~
URL: https://pagure.io/fedora-diversity/issue/243
Created by: jflory7 (Justin W. Flory)
Created on: Tuesday, Oct 25, 2022
Latest comment: _Discussed in 2022-11-07 meeting (video)_.
- Disposition: moved
- New Assignee:
* **JWF**: Relevant, but we need to support Emma Kidney & friends more in launching a healthy, thriving team around a11y. Emma's input is important for this ticket.
* Moved 2023-08-31 to GitLab A11y WG repo

### Issue #241: Migrate from Pagure to GitLab

- New Assignee: N/A
* **JWF**: Let's close, we agreed we are doing it! And here we are in this notepad :slightly_smiling_face:
* We are sooooo close now.

Latest comment: Issue is moved to gitlab - https://gitlab.com/fedora/dei/home/-/issues/2
- Disposition: Close (rwright@ - this ticket should be closed per last comment)
- New Assignee: N/A
* **JWF**: Close moved issue.
--------------------
### ~~Issue #238: Open Source Apps that encompass the knowledge of natives~~
URL: https://pagure.io/fedora-diversity/issue/238
Created by: rikardgn (Rikard Grossman-Nielsen)
Created on: Monday, Oct 10, 2022
Latest comment: Thanks for opening this ticket, @rikardgn. I also haven't seen something like this before, although I am curious to know more about what you think the Fedora D.E.I. Team could do in this area. What connection do you see between this proposal and the Fedora Community or Fedora Linux?
- Disposition: (Close/Move)
- New Assignee: N/A
* **JWF**:
--------------------
### ~~Issue #235: Docs proposal: Change from docs.fp.o/diversity-inclusion/ to docs.fp.o/dei/ - CLOSED and moved to gitlab~~
URL: https://pagure.io/fedora-diversity/issue/235
Created by: jflory7 (Justin W. Flory)
Created on: Sunday, Oct 02, 2022
Latest comment: Moved to gitlab - https://gitlab.com/fedora/dei/home/-/issues/3
- Disposition: Close (rwright@ - this ticket should be closed per last comment)
- New Assignee: N/A
* **JWF**:
--------------------
### Issue #225: Update FWD -> Fedora Week of Diversity in DEI docs
URL: https://pagure.io/fedora-diversity/issue/225
Created by: siddharthvipul1 (Vipul Siddharth)
Created on: Tuesday, May 10, 2022
Latest comment: Long Comment - See Pagure
- Disposition: TBD, can we finish the PR and then close the issue?
- New Assignee: N/A
* **JWF/jonatoni**: JWF will see if he can add commits to the branch. If not, close PR and migrate issue to GitLab.
--------------------
### ~~Issue #223: Standard Social Agreement for teams & team meetings~~
URL: https://pagure.io/fedora-diversity/issue/223
Created by: riecatnor (Marie Nordin)
Created on: Monday, Apr 11, 2022
Latest comment: **Metadata Update from @jflory7**:
- Disposition: close
- New Assignee: _good first issue_
* **JWF/jonatoni**: Relevant to #194, but let's keep it and move it because it is small, focused, and could be a good newcomer task. Likely just copy-pasting what we have into a new docs page.
* **JWF**: A later review shows that [this already exists in our team docs](https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/diversity-inclusion/meetings/#social-agreement), so it is better to simply close this one.
--------------------
### ~~Issue #194: Brainstorm topic modules and outline structure in D&I docs~~
URL: https://pagure.io/fedora-diversity/issue/194
Created by: jflory7 (Justin W. Flory)
Created on: Tuesday, Mar 23, 2021
Latest comment: **Metadata Update from @jflory7**:
- Disposition: Move to Home + refocus
- New Assignee: _maybe Justin_
* **JWF/jonatoni**: This ticket is stale but the need for looking at our docs is still true. A refocus should instead be an audit/review of our content and figuring out what is outdated, what is relevant, and what we could improve.
* See #223: Could we improve the "recommended resources" or best practices section to include something like a standard social agreement?
--------------------
### ~~Issue #183: Draft D&I Mission statement~~
URL: https://pagure.io/fedora-diversity/issue/183
Created by: jflory7 (Justin W. Flory)
Created on: Thursday, Nov 12, 2020
Latest comment: _Discussed in 2022-12-05 video meeting_.
I flagged this in today's meeting as something we can focus back on. Going into 2023, it will be a good opportunity for us to refocus and narrow our goals down in the DEI Team. An updated vision and mission statement fits into this as a "guiding light" for how we prioritize our work as a team.
One idea shared by @rikardgn was about documenting our long-term goals for accessibility in Fedora, given that we are hoping to bring the DEI Team and Accessibility WG closer together in 2023.
- Disposition: Move to Home
- New Assignee: *unassigned*
* **JWF/jonatoni**: Oh wow, this is definitely still important and we want to have this discussion. Let's keep it.
--------------------
### ~~Issue #140: Compiling a list of Fedora contributors from underrepresented groups interested in speaking opportunities~~
URL: https://pagure.io/fedora-diversity/issue/140
Created by: bee2502 (Bhagyashree Padalkar)
Created on: Saturday, Jul 11, 2020
Latest comment: Is this list meant to be public or for Fedora internal use (e.g. for inviting Fedora people to speak at Fedora conferences?)
- Disposition: Move to Initiatives
- New Assignee: *unassigned*
* **JWF/jonatoni**: Is this a need we have today? Maybe not. It is a good idea but there are parts to be careful about (e.g. data privacy and safety). Let's keep it open as an Initiative that we could revisit if we have time/bandwidth later.
--------------------
### ~~Issue #54: Create event organization best practices guide for D&I at Fedora events~~
URL: https://pagure.io/fedora-diversity/issue/54
Created by: amsharma (Amita Sharma)
Created on: Monday, Jan 29, 2018
Latest comment: I am opening this ticket back up. Now that our docs have been better organized and structured, I think we can add these event guidelines into the `events/` module in our docs.
- Disposition: Move to Home + change focus
- New Assignee: _open_
* **JWF/jonatoni**: Move to DEI Home with a new focus. A ticket to create a checklist in our Fedora Docs site for in-person/physical events. Things to consider before, during, and after an event to boost/improve inclusion.
