- Open Source Summit Recap
- Overall conference went well from a connection standpoint
- Things moved quickly with everyone there
- Breakfast went well. 80+ attendees, 100+ registrations. Some had to be turned away because of capacity
- Press coverage:
- Valkey mentioned in discussions with The Cube and with Swap?
- Following up with journalists to arrange briefings with Madelyn
- Maybe need some AI angles for Valkey to get more attention and press coverage
- Lower attendance overall, not a lot of terribly specific questions about Valkey
- Good for maintainers and contributors
- Probably better turnout and response at OSSEU; plan to angle around CRA and data sovereignty to appeal to EU audience; plan to demo benchmarking speed and preview Valkey 9.0
- RPi demo was compelling; highlight the speed in booth graphics;
- OSSEU messaging
- focus on speed as differentiator
- speed of innovation/ amount of innovation because it's open source and multi-vendor
- data sovereignty
- LF Contract Update
- New version received yesterday
- Had a meeting during OSSNA about points of concern for LF Media contract
- Revised version going in Slack
- Concerns addressed about length of contract and engagement post 1 year if there isn't a new contract
- Cost would be comprehensive for generating press releases and things of that nature
- 4 part blog series
- First blog draft delivered
- Need to ask if we can add more about Valkey to it
- Valkey YouTube Channel questions
- https://www.youtube.com/@valkeyproject
- Can we add this to valkey channel https://www.youtube.com/live/6m_zmjEPClE?feature=shared
- Discussion of adding Kafka functionality through a new module
