## Why PhD?
* Motivation:
* To cultivate a higher level eyesight on problem formulation, not only just to build a solution, but also to think more on how and why the problem is formed.
* To train myself as an expert on problem definition, with solid ability on modeling issues (engineering, social system, finance, strategy, etc) into quantitative form and provide a robust and optimal solution
* **Beyond engineering, but solid in engineering**: Coping with generic complex system problem via similar domain knowledge

* Research Interest
* **Uncertainty+System Level Design**
* System Engineering & Architecture
* Agent-based design, modeling stakeholder's opinion
* Multidisciplinary design optimization, optimization of complex system
* Design under uncertainty, model updating techniques


## Applied program
The optimization-related researchers are mostly sorted in IE department, system-related researchers are in AE. ME is the intersection of all.
