If you have any questions regarding this document that aren't stated in here hit me up on discord Edge#3609 ## Basics Eldritch Cultists is a magic-based roundstart antagonist, that grows with power the longer the round goes on, making it simmiliar to shadowlings on other codebases, but it has a distinct diffrence in that the way you aquire the power is more simmiliar to changelings or traitors, making it a mix of 'grow with power' and 'choose your own path' type of antagonist. Eldritch Cultists unique currency are charges on his Codex Cicatrix. His unique powers are aquired by researching eldritch knowledge using charges. ### Eldritch Knowledge Eldritch knowledge is responsible for everything regarding the antagonist, from passive abilities, summons, transmutations or even spells. Eldritch knowledge is divided into 3 'paths' : Rust , Ash and Flesh If you want to add a new 'path' go ahead, it is very simple. Just go into modules/antagonist/eldritch_cult/knowledge and create a new file, call it the same way you want to call your path. Remember paths MUST be very distinct thematically, and should have very little overlap when it comes to main abilities. You must also remember to connect your path with the rest of eldritch knowledge, since the research net is organized simmilary to the Path of Exile skill tree. #### Rust Rust is all about area denial, all of their abilities have some form of 'corrosive' effect, that rusts tiles, or exploits rust tiles in some other way. Abilities on path of rust should NOT have any straight up damaging abilities that can be used towards /mob/living/carbon Silicons are free game #### Ash Ash is all about being hard as FUCK to catch, crowd control and being a sly fucker. Abilities on path of ash should NOT have any outright-stunning effects, i tried to make this antagonist as skill expressive as possible, and putting old-style non-stamina stuns in there defeats the point. #### Flesh Flesh is all about resurrecting the dead to serve you and summoning eldritch demons. Abilities on the path of flesh should only concern resurrecting and summoning. No other ability should be there (there are exceptions, read along i will mention them later in the document.) #### Side As i said the knowledge tree is structured simmiliary to Path of Exile skill tree. The way this is achieved is through Side abilities, that are very useful, but don't directly help you in reaching your final summoning. Side abilities are a free game, put whatever you want there. ### Structure of the research tree ![](https://i.imgur.com/llTqckn.png) This is what i mean path of exile like skill tree, you can freely jump between paths BUT it will always be more expensive than bee-lining for your final ritual. Also the main abilities should be simmiliar, for example every path has sickly blade mark update. ### Aquiring charges Charges shouldn't easy to get, or well. Should be risky. That's why currently the only 2 ways of aquiring charges are inlfuences and the living heart #### Influences If you decide to play an eldritch cultist, influences are those flying little cracks that you sometimes see in public areas. Only eldritch cultists can see these, to aquire a charge, simply use your book on the black part of the influence in the middle, it will take 15 seconds and you will gain a charge. Be aware **Harvested Influences are visible to everyone** #### Living Heart The second way of aquiring influences is through living heart, simply put it on the transmutation rune and activate the rune. It will find a suitable target. Your goal now is to go to that target, kill them and sacrifice them on the rune for a single charge. It the ritual gibs them. Be aware that it may interfere with voiceless resurrection, so don't try to revive your targets, since they will just be gibbed instead of raised as voiceless dead. ## Powers Abilities cost 1 charge unless stated otherwise. All powers except for Side path are organized how from the first to the last. ### Flesh path #### Principle of Hunger (Main ability cost: 1) Opens up the path of flesh to you. Allows you to transmute a pool of blood with a kitchen knife into a Flesh Blade( rename of the Sickly blade ) #### Grasp of Flesh (Main ability cost: 1) Empowers your mansus grasp to be able to create a single ghoul out of a dead person. Ghouls have only 25 HP and look like husks. #### Imperfect Ritual Allows you to resurrect the dead as voiceless dead by sacrificing them on the transmutation rune with a poppy. Voiceless dead are mute and have 50 HP. You can only have 2 at a time. #### Mark of flesh (Main ability cost: 2) Your sickly blade now applies mark of flesh status effect. To proc the mark, use your mansus grasp on the marked. Mark of flesh when procced causeds additional bleeding. #### Raw Ritual You can now summon a Raw Prophet using eyes, a left arm, right arm and a pool of blood. Raw prophets have increased seeing range, as well as Xray. But are very fragile and weak. #### Bleeding Steel (Main ability cost: 2) Your blade will now cause additional bleeding. #### Lonely Ritual You can now summon a Stalker using a knife, a flower, a pen and a piece of paper. Stalkers can shapeshift into harmeless animals and get close to the victim. #### Priest's Final Hymn (Main ability cost: 3) Bring 3 bodies onto a transmutation rune to either ascend as a terror of the night prime or you can summon a regular terror of the night. ### Rust path #### Blacksmith's Tale (Main ability cost: 1) Opens up the path of rust to you. Allows you to transmute a knife with any trash item into a Rusty Blade.( rename of the Sickly blade ) #### Grasp of rust (Main ability cost: 1) Empowers your mansus grasp to deal 500 damage to non-living matter and rust any turf it touches. Destroys already rusted turfs. #### Leeching Walk Passively heals you when you are on rusted tiles. #### Mark of Rust (Main ability cost: 2) Your eldritch blade now applies a rust mark. Rust mark has a chance to deal between 0 to 200 damage to 75% of enemies items. To Detonate the mark use your mansus grasp on it. #### Agressive Spread Spreads rust to nearby turfs. Destroys already rusted walls. #### Toxic blade (Main ability cost: 2) Your blade of choice will now add toxin to enemies bloodstream. #### Wave of Rust You can now send a projectile that converts an area into rust. #### Rustbringer's Oath (Main ability cost: 3) Bring 3 corpses onto the transmutation rune. After you finish the ritual rust will now automatically spread from the rune. Your healing on rust is alos tripled and you gain 50% resist against brute and burn while on rust tiles. ### Ash path #### Nightwatcher's secret (Main ability cost: 1) Opens up the path of ash to you. Allows you to transmute a match with a knife into an ashen blade.( rename of the Sickly blade ) #### Grasp of Ash (Main ability cost: 1) Empowers your mansus grasp to throw away enemies. #### Ashen Shift Short range jaunt that can help you escape from bad situations. #### Mark of ash (Main ability cost: 2) Your sickly blade now applies ash mark on hit. Use your mansus grasp to proc the mark. Mark of Ash causes stamina damage, and fire loss, and spreads to a nearby carbon. Damage scales with how many times the mark has spread. #### Curse of blindness Curse someone with 2 minutes of complete blindness by sacrificing a pair of eyes, a knife and a pool of blood, with an object that the victim has touched. #### Fiery Blade (Main ability cost: 2) Your blade of choice will now add firestacks. #### Touch of Madness Short range spell that allows you to curse someone with massive sanity loss. #### Ashlord's rite (Main ability cost: 3) Bring 3 corpses onto a transmutation rune, you will become immune to fire ,space ,cold and other enviromental hazards. You will passively create ring of fire around you as well as you will gain a powerful abiltiy that let's you burn people around you. ### Side abilities #### Priest's ritual **FROM : Leeching Walk , Ashen Shift** You can now transmute a tank of water into a bottle of eldritch water. #### Ashen Eyes **FROM : Ashen Shift , Imperfect Ritual** Allows you to craft thermal vision amulet by transmutating eyes with a glass shard. #### Armorer's ritual **FROM : Imperfect Ritual , Leeching Walk** You can now create eldritch armor using a table and a kitchen knife. #### Curse of Corrosion **FROM : Agressive Spread, Curse of Blindness** Curse someone for 2 minutes of vomiting and slight organ damage. Using a knife, a spill of blood, a heart, left arm and a right arm, and an item that the victim touched. #### Curse of Paralysis **FROM : Curse of Blindness ,Raw Ritual** Curse someone for 5 minutes of inability to walk. Using a knife, pool of blood, left leg, right leg, a hatchet and an item that the victim touched. #### Blood Cleave **FROM : Raw Ritual , Aggressive Spread** Gives AOE spell that causes heavy bleeding. #### Blood Siphon **FROM : Rust Wave, Touch of Madness** You gain a spell that drains enemies health and restores yours. #### Rusted Ritual **FROM : Rust Wave, Lonely Ritual** You can now summon a Rust Walker transmutating vomit pool, a head and a book. #### Ashen Ritual **FROM : Lonely Ritual, Touch of Madness** You can now summon an Ash Man by transmutating a pile of ash , a head and a book.
