How do you think technology is changing the ways children are socialized? ## 本文 ### Introduction 60 words (30 sec) #### introduction (talking about something related to your main opinion) Today I will talk about how technology is changing the ways children are socialized. Technology change has an impact on our life. This is no exception when socializing children. #### In our opinion…(write your main opinion. make a fluent story between ↑) I would like to emphasized that technology broaden the way for children to be socialized, instead of socialized by mainly parents or relative. #### transition (show how many reasons you have, or show how you will probe into supporting detalis) I will tell you this by 3 points. First, Many kinds of people can be role model Second, Children can communicate with each other easily Third, Children can do many by themselves ### Support part 1 159 words (1 min 20 sec) #### the first reason of your opinion The first point is that technology lets us select role models among many people on children's socialization. #### a bit detailed talk about the opinion (explain your ideas) Parents used to socialize their children with people whom they can meet. But, information technology lets us show many kinds of people's behavior to children. #### more details or examples At first, it was the television that brought some other people in front of children. Then now, the Internet is playing that role in a more advanced way. These days, children watch a lot of things through the Internet. For example, children watch youtube very much. 1つや2つ順位が変わったくらいでは言いたいことは変わらず いや信頼できるに越したことはないけど --> According to the website tells about youtube's most played videos that I show in slide, 1st, 3rd, 6th, 7th, 11th, and 18th most played videos are for children. That shows now children watch youtube a lot, and many parents choose to show them. The penetration of the Internet to children enables them to be socialized through many kinds of sources. These sources are more selectable than ones available in the past. Next, let me talk about the second point. ### Support part 2 158 words (1 min 20 sec) #### the second reason of your opinion The second point is that now children can communicate with children much easier by using social networking services, or SNS. #### a bit detailed talk about the opinion (explain your ideas) Children in recent years were called digital natives, and now they communicate through SNS as much as they do in real life. That enables children to communicate with each other at any moment, or any situation, even when they are home. #### more details or examples This means children look and think more about other children. So we can say that they are now socialized among children. Parents of all ages indeed want to know what their children are doing and they cannot do it completely. But, it is especially hard to understand because some people in elder generations find it hard to use digital devices. And society in SNS sometimes looks weird and hard to understand because they communicate through letters, which is different from the way previous generations have communicated. That shows their community is likely to separate from other generations. <!-- TODO: \<decide which source to be brought here. that means decide how to support this idea\> 資料……いりますかね --> Let me hand you over to Mr. Nakamura who will explain about the impact of different kind of technology which I told. ### Support part 3 <!--#### the third reason of your opinion #### a bit detailed talk about the opinion (explain your ideas) #### more details or examples--> Now let’s move on the third point, the case children are socialized by themselves. Today, due to the development of safety product, children come to have more experience at home than before. #### example1 IH: low risk of burning. #### exmaple2 products that are changed structure for children knives which are rounded and have wider blade. There are more compony which create goods for children. #### explain the way of bring children up classification that divide parents type into four types, originally defined by psychologist Diana Baumrind in 1960s, as the table shows. focus on level of intervention possibility to decrease intervention and have them do things by themselves such as by giving their own room. Children do various activity, then find problem, and solve. For instance, the case that one child doesn’t clean their room can be given. He feels messy, then learn what should do. ### Conclusion #### repeat your main opinion in different phrases #### conclude with some talks about the future ## 回収した単語 <!--表の行の追加は、表の中にカーソルを置いた状態で、エディタの上側の"行"と書いてあるところの "+"ボタンを押してください--> | 単語 | 場所 | |:---------- |:-------------- | | socialized | everywhere | | role model | support part 1 | | acquire | support part 3 |
