Distrion, the New Auto Discount Reward App for Spending in Bitcoin Lighting and Hive Dollars

**What is Distrion about?**

Distrion provides discounts when you spend Bitcoin Lightning or Hive Dollars ($HBD) when you document your purchases with Social Media.

By spending Lightning and Hive Dollars in businesses, you can benefit as follows:

- Receive refunds from 35 - 60% on purchases made in BTC Lightning or Hive Dollars.
- The more frequently you use Distrion to claim discounts, the bigger your discounts are.
- You are supporting a neutral, instant, zero fee, stable currency that has no ICO, pre-mine, company, founder or CEO
- You are supporting the creation and growth of a parallel economy outside of the traditional banking system that provides censorship resistance and sovereignty to all people.

**How does Distrion work?**

You and the business must have Hive accounts.

Step by Step to Claim Distrion discounts:
1) Attend a business that accepts Hive Dollar or Lightning payments
2) Make sure they issue you a QR invoice from either V4V.app or Hive Keychain Store
3) It is advisable to use your alternate account and add it to your Hive Keychain with posting and active keys
4) Make sure there are adequate Hive Dollars in your balance on the account you will pay with
5) Pay the invoice by scanning from your Keychain app
6) Visit Hive-Distrion.app within 30 minutes of your purchase and log in with the SAME account that you paid with
7) Click claim
8) The app will ask you to take 2 to 10 photos of your purchase experience at the business
9) The app will ask you to write a sentence about your experience at the business
10) Click to proceed and sign the transaction
11) The app will congratulate you on a successful claim
12) Check your wallet history and see your claim has been paid in!

Distrion will send you instant liquid Hive Dollar rewards for doing this from between 35 and 60% of your purchase value. The more you use the app the higher your discounts will be.

In the back ground, the app posts a post to the Hive blockchain via your Hive account and takes a beneficiary from the rewards of that post to cover the cost of this instant discount paid.

Distrion DOES NOT make a profit doing this since any surplus beneficiary funds will be sent back out to the community in the form of prizes in competitions for those who spend Bitcoin Lightning and Hive Dollars the most frequently and use the app to make claims.

IMPORTANT NOTE FOR EXISTING HIVEANS: If you intend to use Distrion regularly to claim, and are already a frequent content poster to Hive, it is advised to create an alternative to your main Hive account. This is because your post feed will be full of short Distrion posts about how you are claiming wonderful discounts from businesses. While you are lovely, we are sure that people following your main account for your social content won't want to see too much of that in their feeds.

**Expanding Hive Dollar Spending and the Hive Community:**
Distrion can be a great way to expand Hive and BTC lightning payments in the real world. Bitcoiners can spend BTC and mine Hive Dollar stable coins by claiming their discounts with Distrion!!

The spends are done transparently, in legitimate businesses, so documenting the transactions on the blockchain with content and making claims based on this is incredibly valuable and difficult to game.

As the network affect takes hold, Hive Dollars will distribute further.

Earn Passively:
- People onboarding businesses will earn a portion of the discounts paid out through that business passively.
- Trusted people (known as Trusted Guides) helping businesses to spend into this economy and further incentivise their clients will earn additional rewards passively
- People onboarding new users will earn a portion of the discounts paid out to that user passively

As more Bitcoiners and Hiveans use the system to claim rewards and a network affect will take hold. Hive dollars will spread to more accounts.

**Spreading Hive Dollars and Lightning**
**A method to onboard new Businesses:**
1) At the moment, we can use https://spendhbd.social.gifts/ to create new profiles of businesses
2) As you visit and spend in these places using the traditional economy, create reviews and tag #spendhbd. We can add these reviews to the businesses’ profiles, while rewarding the Hiveans making the reviews with Hive upvotes
3) Once there are at least 2-5 reviews about the businesses, you can approach the owner asking if they want to open a Hive account
4) By opening a Hive account the business now automatically accepts both Bitcoin Lightning payments (if payment is made using V4V.app) and Hive Dollar payments
5) We can focus on Businesses that already accept lightning if we wish, since these businesses are more open to payment in alternative currencies and will often be looking for a stable unit of account to complement their Lightning payments (Many of the businesses in SpendHBD.social.gifts already accept BTC lighting and we are adding more all the time).
6) Once the businesses have Hive accounts, their clients will receive between 35 and 60% discounts on their purchases if they spend in either lighting BTC or Hive Dollars and claim using the Distrion applcation.
7) If our Trusted Guides approve, whomever was involved in the previous 7 steps to onboard the business will earn passive rewards from the discounts paid out in Hive Dollars

In this way, the Hive community has a great opportunity to add more businesses to the Bitcoin and wider parallel economic system than anyone else. This is a realistic and honourable milestone to aim for!

**A method to onboard new users:**
Set up local workshops at or near by the businesses that you have onboarded. These workships should aim to assist or educate attendees with the following tasks or information:
- Onboard with Hive accounts (onboarding system will be provided soon).
- Creation of Point of Sales invoices using V4V.app and Hive Keychain Store
- How to make and receive payments
- Claim discount rewards via Distrion
- Make #Spendhbd Posts to the Hive Blockchain
- Easily cash out to Bitcoin, lightning or, if available, local currency

We are about to run our first workshops and will provide feedback, our experiences and free presentation and marketing resources shortly.

A Path to Profitability:
As distrion grows, and more businesses take part there are two ways the system can make money:
1) asking businesses to subscribe each month in exchange for being whitelisted and therefore having bitcoiners and Hiveans directed to their businesses
2) working with the businesses to set up paid rewards campaigns where the business pays in a certain amount for their campaign and the Trusted Guides work with them to reward users for spending, posting reviews and sharing content to other social media.

**App Type and Tech**
Distrion not Open source at the moment, as we are in the early phases of sprint development. But we do plan to remove critical information from the code and make an open source public repository once we are happy the code is optimised fully. More information to follow on this.

Distrion is a Progressive Web App (PWA) but we plan to expand it to a full iOS and Android app in the future, if circumstances permit. It uses the following technology:

- Database = mongo

- Adding new business profiles (coming soon) (users get get a protion of the rewards that go through the reviews of that business if the business is verified by Distrion Trusted Guides)
- Make reviews of businesses that have not yet got Distrion profiles or Hive accounts

**Medium Reward:**
- Pay in Lightning or Hive Dollars in businesses that have Hive accounts and claim cashback rewards via the Distrion app

**Best rewards:**
- Check your position in the Distrion leaderboard and become the first to spend 7 times in each 2 week competition period (details to follow)
- Onboard new users through Distrion's sign up system (you get a cut of the new sign up's rewards for their first 6 months) - implementation ongoing, coming soon.
- Making reviews for businesses that have ongoing active paid deal campaigns (feature coming soon)

**Trusted Guides Program**
While Hive already has years of on-chain evidence pointing to who are the most trustable members of the community, Distrion will probably need more of these high quality individuals in the future. So we will have to set up a Trusted Guide onboarding campaign. Information on this will follow.
