# November 2nd
## Continuing on opportunities
- Is DyME-CHH funded?
- Reponse from Jen: The February workshop is funded not the entire project "though Allaine has sent the proposal to exec".
- to discuss next week: value of just the workshop, connection to TRIC
## updates
- DT Hub collab proposal progress & next steps
- Would like to do map a specific case studies onto gemini principles as a start & get early feedback on it
# October 31st
## New opportunities
- Several chats with Jen regarding the link up of Environemnt DTs, specifically Gavin's upcoming project which is an extension of DyME. This involves a workshop in Australia February next year, I'd like to dedicate some time to this. Opportunities to also bring in TEA! [See notes on the project here](https://hackmd.io/@jending12/SyqKDPwz6)
- Is this funded atm? if so until when?
- good connection points
- conditional should be to bring in Kirstine, Scott & Steve
- what's the value proposition for this? (harmonizing of scientific vision, underpinnings of ethical & responsible research > reference transformation theory of change framework)
- ==I'd be interested to discuss if I should apply for the new [BridgeAI independent Scientific Advisory role](https://www.turing.ac.uk/work-turing/innovate-uk-bridgeai-independent-scientific-advisors-role-profile). Closing date Nov 12== > Alden to feedback on this and recognize as core RAM work
- Maintain contact with Chanell Daniels from digital catapult and agreed to join their *AI risk and ethics sessions* for the BridgeAI accelerators. (Maybe a good place to showcase TEA). Should happen beginning of November.
- Kalle and I to attend one day of the IoT Tech Expo Nov/Dec London
## Updates
#### TEA platform
- Supported Kalle with invites for TEA workshop. Specifically through contact at Energy Systems Catapult got connected to several people working on DTs in the energy sector.
- Submitted AIUK demonstrator application for TEA
#### TRIC-DT
- Set-up seminar series. Fixed & announced the first session speakers and date
- Met with Martin Stoffel, Chris Lindley, Ziad and Xiaoxue and helped with their submissions for AIUK lightning talks.
- Worked with Kalle & Cass as best as we could to get reporting done. I found there were missing instructions for what exactly was wanted and how to split the reporting for TRIC-DT and TPS.
#### RAM work
- Finished guidance work on clim-recal, worked together with reg team to merge everything into main (mainly Greg & Griffith)
- Worked out [coaching plan for Pitchfest](https://hackmd.io/fQqp0S1GQPaCAlawXH7GMw#Timeline)
#### Other
- Participated in panel about "how to thrive in your PhD" as part of Enrichment students intro
- Sophia send me her TTW draft chapter on how to plan inclusive events. I have provided some feedback and have pulled out some best practices we could adopt & test during our november events
## Opportunities to discuss
# October 5th
## Discussion points
### Qs from last week:
- Advice on how to report back on BridgeAI event
- Professional Development Internal Training Request Form for Policy engagement workshop
- in general: there is funding available, there is a process
- https://mathison.turing.ac.uk/page/2322?SearchId=321303
### Objectives review:
Objective 3: champion best practices across Turing & TPS
**Targets**
- Establish knowledge share
- 🚨 No-one needs this, abort!
- 💡 will broaden this into organising & maintaining RAM resources
- 💡Pivot to integrating with TRIC-DT ways of working: https://hackmd.io/@cassgvp/r1B4hTBk6/edit
- Set-up GitHub automatic csv to slide workflow
- ✅ Done, see [here](https://github.com/alan-turing-institute/research-application-management/pull/56) ==usability & adoption questionable==
- Represents RAM across Turing events
- Bridge AI
- Enrichment Students intro (I'm at panel)
- contributing to CDT conference, [see slides here](https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1HGE7DEsRK97ukuV4Ps_qw19x5fjzNj8a/edit?usp=sharing&ouid=112341831917451198511&rtpof=true&sd=true)
- IET awards (even Turing external events!)
- not leading pitchfest (but supporting, will probably be leading some of the training)
- 🚨 Sharing hub best practices with TTW community.==not yet sure how my hub activities in the next 6 months feed into TTW==
- 💡 think about how work on CDT conference (specifically alt-text) could feed into Turing Commons activities: https://hackmd.io/IyiT2O_5SAKH4Jl4NoJ3NQ
Objective 1: RAM engagement in DyME\
**Targets**
- Contribute to code base
- ✅ Done [here](https://github.com/alan-turing-institute/clim-recal/pull/50) and this triggered raising an issue on external python package [here](https://github.com/pydata/xarray/issues/8086)
- Develop Project guidance & documentation
- ✅ In progress and almost done. Created the foundations for documentation using sphinx, helped create analysis flowchart, rearranged and co-wrote guidance based on current analysis pipeline. [Links to show work available throughout this branch](https://github.com/alan-turing-institute/clim-recal/tree/documentation)
- Did code review on other team member's PRs
Objective 3: Scope & Kickstart E&S ram engagement
**Targets**
- Sharepoint list with DT-related E&S researchers.
- ✅ Done [here](https://thealanturininstitute.sharepoint.com/sites/TRICDTLeadershipteam/Lists/ramevents/AllItems.aspx) ==but need to constantly remind people to use it==
- Roadmap for co-working series
- ✅ will expand on [github issue](https://github.com/alan-turing-institute/tric-dt-hub-team/issues/9) with suggestions for overlap / research interests that could generalize across themes
- 💡will go forward with meeting researchers & coordinate with Cass
- 2 Co-working meetings held with positive participant feedback
- 💡 I will present explicit plan for seminar series including value proposition & title to discuss with the Hub
# September 28th
## Discussion points
### Qs from last week:
- Last time we spoke you mentioned, My objectives eventually need to be updated. When exactly would this happen? Will I create new objectives after those are done?
- Can I still change the objective date? And do I need to do so?
### Objectives review:
Objective 3: Scope & Kickstart E&S ram engagement

- ✅ will expand on [github issue](https://github.com/alan-turing-institute/tric-dt-hub-team/issues/9) with suggestions for overlap / research interests that could generalize across themes
- 🚨felt blocked by unclear division of responsibilties between RCM & RAM
- 💡will go forward with meeting researchers & coordinate with Cass
- 2 Co-working meetings held with positive participant feedback
- 🚨 need to plan this now, else it won't happen. Feeling somewhat blocked by missing ways of working doc
- 💡 I will present explicit plan for seminar series including value proposition & title to discuss with the Hub
- Shared Objective with Kalle, but also Cass? >> that is fine
- ❓Are my targets sufficient as "RAM engagement".
- Level of engagement is unclear to me. Should we work **directly** with TRIC-DT pdras (? & Ziad) / reg(Martin Stoffel), (+Mohamad as BAS researcher) or also with extended researchers? If so, should we evaluate RAM-readiness for projects? Or do we not work with specific projects at all and instead work on meta-level (TEA platform) or a mix?
- 💡 Sophie sets up meeting with Chris & Kalle to decide on RAM strategy, best would be if Kalle & I have a proposal prepped, but probably not enough time.
