## Introduction Rayta & Sjoukje
- Sjoukje: Welcome back everyone, and for those who are just watching, welcome to XPLR.Lowlands where we are talking about the Ignite announcements!
- My name is Sjoukje Zaal, head of the Microsoft Cloud CoE at Capgemini, Microsoft RD & MVP, and Rayta, sr EM and MSFT MVP.
- Sjoukje: We've already heard lots of great announcements and updates around Modern workplace and security. In case you missed it, you can watch the recordings on our YouTube channel. And now it is time to dive into Azure together with Scott Hanselman, Partner Program Manager from Microsoft. We will ask Scott a couple of questions, he will show us some cool stuff, and of course we want you to ask him your questions as well.
- Sjoukje: Hi Scott, thank you so much for joining. it is so nice to see you again! How are you?
- Rayta: This years tagline is Doing more with less. Cost effectivenes, performance, massive scale, security on confidential VMs. Satya mentioned quite some topics. What would you recommend companies to focus on specifically? And if you narrow it down to the developers perspective, what do you think should be there focuspoint? (personal fav: low-code into no-code)
- Fun fact Scott
- How did you experience this years Ignite event?
- What did you think of the hybrid approach?
- What were your highlights during Ignite?
- This years Keynote was all about doing more with less, how does the development ecosystem relates to that? And how do you see this evolving in the next years?
- What are your tips to (aspiring) developers? What should they focus on?
- What do you think of Microsoft's investments in open-source and where is it heading?
- What is the future of cloud native at Microsoft?
- Favo dev tools
If we look at what is happening in the world today, the overall message and theme of Microsoft Ignite, "doing more with less", is of course spot on! And also on top of mind of most customers I work with.
And I'm very happy to see that the Microsoft cloud is now ready to support this.
I'm also very happy to see that there are huge investments in sustainability. A couple of months ago the Sustainability Manager got released, and during Ignite new investments and releases were announced. Also the addition to the well-architected framework around sustainability is something that will make people more aware of how their solutions will impact the climate.
For me these were the highlights of Microsoft Ignite this year.
