## Roll call

## Ideas session:
We need your help to shape the first step of this handbook - getting started!
Our guidebook so far: https://rse-worldwide.github.io/RSE-Community-Building/intro.html
Share your ideas with us:
- How can we maintain consistency while writing this handbook?
- What are the various roles under the umbrella of RSEs: academic, industry, non-academic, others
- Persona(s) and pathway(s) of an RSE
- Social media for RSEs
- Resources for RSEs: blogs, websites, etc.
## Contents
- What should be included in our handbook?
- How to avoid it being a record of what we've done rather than how to do it? or is this okay?
## Structure
- In Chapters by country or event type or by research group, institute level?
## Contributions
- Passing it around the international community - having a session at each conference?
- Having dedicated RSE Worldiwde sessions at different regional RSE conferences or unconferences? During these sessions update/further develop the handbook
- How to contribute? How to make it easy to contribute quickly?
- Recognition for contributors and contributions
- Do we want a template for contributions so the same. basic information is included and a contact name/email for further queries?
- Contribution guidelines like the Turing Way or less of an onboarding process? more of a template to fill in and done?
