How to change Spotify password

To change your Spotify password, you must log into your account via the Spotify website. This applies to those who use the streaming app on Windows or macOS and those who use it on iOS or Android.

This method assumes that you can remember your current Spotify password. If you forget, follow the instructions in the next section

• Go to the Spotify website and select Sign in in the upper-right corner of the homepage.
• Enter your username/email address and current password and select Sign in. If you use Facebook, see the next section.
• Select your profile in the top left, and select the account from the dropdown menu.
• Select Change Password in the left menu.
• Enter the current password in the Current password field.
• Enter the new password in the New Password field, and then again in the Repeat New Password field.
• Select Set a new password.
• Once you change the password, you will see the message “Password has been updated”.

How to reset Spotify password when forgotten

Changing your Spotify password is more complicated when you forget it. When you don’t know your current Spotify password, you can reset it in a few steps. This also applies to logins with a Facebook account whether or not you know the password.

• You will no longer need to use the Facebook login button if you reset it.
• Go to the Spotify website and select Sign in in the upper-right corner of the homepage.
• Select Forgot your password?
• Enter the email address or username associated with your account.
• Select I am not an automated Captcha box.
• Select Submit.
• Choose Submit to get a password reset link from Spotify.
• Sign in to the email account you linked to Spotify and find the password reset email.
• Open this email and select Reset Password.
• Enter a new password in the New Password field, and then again in the Repeat New Password field.
• Select I am not an automated Captcha box.
• Select Submit.
• After the new password is created, it should be stored in a safe and easily accessible place. Consider using a password manager, which takes you out of the hassle of calling dozens or hundreds of random codes.
