### Primary Driver Proposal for the Education Circle of an Open Decentralized Innovation Organization (ODIN)
#### Title:
Empowering ODIN Communities through Education and S3 Practice
#### Driver Statement:
In the evolving landscape of Open Decentralized Innovation (ODIN), there is a recognized need for a cohesive educational framework that supports community engagement, the practical application of new methodologies, and the effective practice of Sociocracy 3.0 (S3) patterns. Current observations indicate a gap in collaborative alignment, governance understanding, facilitation skills, and the application of S3 principles within ODIN communities and Web 3 organizations. This gap affects the organization's capacity to operate inclusively, effectively, and aligned with its core values. Addressing this need through structured educational programs will enhance collaborative practices, governance comprehension, and the application of S3, fostering a more empowered, informed, and skilled community capable of driving impactful change and innovation.
Objections
**Certainty of Risk or Possibilty of Risk-We-Don't-Want-to-Take**
Jeremy - I'd like to see the generation of reference materials to be included in the primary driver. Amended: documentation should be added as a key responsibility.
- Nori: shift this to key-responsibility, doesn't fit in driver.
- Assumptions: driver should be smaller, new stuff fits in driver
- Randall: Concern this will emerge from tension on less driver and we're not making progress
- todo: add key responsibility
- Critical risk? --> no: should evolve naturally from tension on less driver.
Nori - Improvement suggestion: feels a bit complicated. It should be easy to understand more at a scan. Ask ChatGPT to simplify
- S3GPT suggestion for simplification:
Situation: There's a gap in collaborative skills, governance understanding, and the use of Sociocracy 3.0 (S3) practices within Open Decentralized Innovation (ODIN) communities and Web 3 organizations, limiting their effectiveness and alignment with values.
Effect of Attending to the Driver: Implementing structured educational programs will improve collaboration, governance insight, and the application of S3, leading to a more capable, informed, and empowered community that can drive meaningful innovation and change.
- Alt below.
Randall (vs original proposed statement): too complicated; people need to be able to understand it. Same like Nori's concern.
- Alt: **sit**: People not initiated to governance practices have difficulty getting to [Effectiveness](https://patterns.sociocracy30.org/principle-effectiveness.html), so **effect** they take a long time to reach a stage of good collaboration. **goal**: People can benefit from accessing programs for becoming informed and practiced. **effect** As a result, they will be empowered, informed and skilled ***[upd: at governance practices]***, creating communities that drive impactful change.
**for Logbook**: the group ran out of time and agreed to take the doc back for iteration inside Education membership.
