The First Law of the Mery Horde

  • The lands of the Mery Horde are held in common by all Mery.
  • All villages in the lands of the Mery Horde shall be free to keep their own customs and laws so long as they do not impede upon the freedom of the Mery.
  • There shall be no homesteading in the lands of the Mery, all must live in a village or upon horseback.
  • All Mery are entitled to vote on any further Laws of the Horde
  • Any civva can become Mery if they accept the truth of the Sun and perform the rite of ???
  • Crimes against the Horde shall be tried and punished by a council of no less than 3 Mery
  • If the need shall arise, for the Mery to negotiate with a foreign power or engage in battle, an assembly shall be called. Once the goal of the Mery is established by vote, an Ataman is chosen to hold authority for the band in the achieving of that goal.
  • None can be Ataman for more than 10 consecutive days. A new Ataman can be chosen at any time if the first is unable to meet the task.
