First you learn to code, then you code to learn.

十年前， PyCon Taiwan 在開始前的時代， 在學校課程中用 Python 來當程式語言，會被認為是"特別"的事。寫 Python 的人，多是自學。 PyCon 及各地 Python 社群，是以推廣和同好交流為目的。
十年後的現在，深度學習成為顯學， Python 已經成為主流語言。 PyTorch, TensorFlow, NumPy, SciPy, scikit-* 成為基本詞彙。

當大家都會 Python 時， 還需要推廣和同好交流嗎？

除了技術上的傳教、宣傳、持續精進外，我自己推廣 Python 的初衷，是希望它能成為大家探索、學習、創作的基本技能與工具。在這個演講中，我將分享除了把 Python 當成工作產出外，將 Python 融入成生活與學習中的一些想法與經歷。

從這開始共筆

  • Thinker 辦了 PyCTW
  • 魏老師講了用 50 行 SVM 寫的中文手寫辨識
  • 介紹 Python3
  • 2012 Pycon : Pysx
  • 把 Python 當成一個用來理解的工具，有點像 debugger 一樣
  • Leapmotion 有個座標性，做了一個 google+ 的外掛
  • 在地技術社群：花蓮Py -> 之前在東華應數系教書，受 PyHug, Taipei.py 啟發收到可以聚集在地朋友
  • 不希望被認為是只限東華大學的活動，所以特別選很多不同的場地
  • 希望大家多多參與花蓮py
  • 鼓勵學生做有趣但是沒用的東西，從中去摸索
  • 寫程式是一種基本技能，不是為了工作學的，可能需要「更多」，希望大家可以做一些有趣的事
  • 就像「寫字」在古代可以是一種工作，但如果只拿來工作有一點點可惜，可以拿來創作、拿來讀書認識世界
    • 沒看過文字的人不會想到自己需要文字
  • 大家都會跑步，但是把跑步當作工作的只有一點點人
    • 只有一點點人會寫程式，都寫得非常好 vs 大家都會跑步，但是平均跑步水準很低
    • 後面的方式才是世界的真理
  • 你會等到明天需要騎腳踏車了才開始學嗎？
    • 當然是小時候就先學會，需要的時候就能拿出來用
  • 用 side project 來學東西
    • Kindle DXG port 了酷音輸入法上去
    • 做了一個 ppt 轉成 lpx 轉 beamer 的東西
  • 成長性思維
    • 茶杯裝滿了就把茶杯變大！
