# Prepare for Forks Removal Software Upgrade Mainnet Hello Luna Community After more than two months of dedicated development and testing, we are excited to provide this final update on the first phase of the fork removal proposal. ## Summary of changes ### Forks removal We have successfully transitioned all relevant logic and code that were previously part of the forked repository. The changes include the following repositories and associated modules. The PR can be found here: https://github.com/classic-terra/core/pull/541 Each module has been fully tested. 1. Cosmos SDK & IBC go https://github.com/orbitorg/core/issues/5 2. CometBFT https://github.com/orbitorg/core/issues/2 ### Reverse Charge Tax Update - Include the fix of multi-send handling for the "reverse charge" implementation https://github.com/classic-terra/core/pull/544/files ### Security Patch for Wasmvm and CometBFT Since we've already unforked, and these security issues come up, so we decided to include it in this upgrade too https://github.com/classic-terra/core/pull/549 - https://github.com/CosmWasm/wasmvm/releases/tag/v1.5.8 - https://github.com/cometbft/cometbft/blob/v0.37.15/CHANGELOG.md#v03715 ## What Does This Mean for Luna classic? - **No Changes to User / Validator Experience** Users will notice no changes to their interactions with the network. All user interfaces, wallets, and tools will continue to function as they always have. - **Bring Terra Classic into alignment with the mainstream Cosmos ecosystem** Since Terra classic now inherits upstream security improvements and enhancements. - Security Updates: If an upstream security patch is released, it can now be seamlessly applied to Terra Classic without additional effort. - Simplified Maintenance: This alignment makes ongoing maintenance more efficient, reducing the overhead required to manage and update the network. ## Testing & Validation The upgraded network was successfully deployed on the testnet and has been running for nearly a month. During this testing period, no critical issues or unexpected behaviors were encountered, indicating the upgrade is stable and ready for mainnet deployment. ## Prepare for the upgrade As we conclude the fork removal efforts, the next step is to proceed with the mainnet upgrade. Here’s what to expect: • Software Upgrade Proposal: We will prepare and submit the software upgrade proposal within the next ***2-3 weeks***. This proposal will outline the details and schedule for the mainnet upgrade. • Validator Collaboration: We will work closely with validators to ensure the upgrade process is smooth and successful. ## A Heartfelt Thanks and Optimistic Future It has been 3 incredible months for us OrbitLabs building on Terra Classic!
