The Federal Act on the Digitisation of the Administration ([EMBAG](https://www.admin.ch/gov/de/start/dokumentation/medienmitteilungen.msg-id-87454.html)) is part of the [Priorities for Digital Switzerland](https://www.admin.ch/gov/en/start/documentation/media-releases.msg-id-80379.html) and stipulates that the federal administration must, in principle, make its **data available to the public for free use and re-use**.
