Hi Jim,
I'm Odelia, a recruiter currently headhunting for an international (English-speaking), VC-backed (1m+ raised) company in Taiwan. They're looking for experienced front-end developers who have experience creating great experiences to join their impactful team.
I come across your resume on LinkedIn and I'd be really interested to talk with you.
I initially thought you might be a good fit for my client since you have experience in web development (React/Redux).
Please do let me know when you might be free for a chat. I know you're probably very busy, so I'll also try giving you a ring at 0958-091-929 today in case you might be too busy to reply to this email.
Or you could also reach me out on Line (ID : odeliaminy)
Best,

What are the specific requirements or criteria for your next move?

### Spencer's flow
Hi thanks for taking the time for a call, nice to meet you!
I'm just curious as to what is making you want to connect with me right now, are you actively looking for a job? (dig in a bit to understand their situation and sympathize with them)
I see that you (pick a detail from resume to talk about, the focus to make sure that front end engineering is a focus)
- have a lot of years experience in react.
- have some experience using angular and vuew
- have been doing some full stack and front end work.
Would you consider yourself a front end developer or a full stack?
How long have you been focused on front end?
Okay great, I currently have 4 roles looking for FE dev.
(Pick a role that matches what they sound like they are looking for, either from)
- work culture (international, independent, good english, etc - rolo)
- pay / promotion (senior developer, manager / lead, opportunity for growth, growing company)
- prestige / stability (brand name, traditional company, reputable)
- technical challenges or learning (interesting technical challenges, new tech stack, strong technical mentorship in team, etc)
There is a company called CBX that is very reputable company, 25+ year history, strong stability and aggressively growing. Looking for a manager or senior front end developer.
There is a company called rolo that is a western culture, flat structure organization.
## Question from Odelia
(1) I have connected a bunch of people on LinkedIn or sent out emails. How to improve my response rate instead of cold calling candidates?
### Caroline comments
- I am not quite sure what you are asking. Is it how to improve your response rate in LinkedIn? May I know what is your connections ratio, how many people did you email or send messages to? And how many people respond to you?
- I actually feel cold-calling candidates are faster as you already have the mobile numbers
> Odelia : The question is my conversion rate is still low.
> Message sent out : 20-40 per day including email/Linkedin
> Message / email respond : Around 5-10 people
> Response : 5-10 per day
(2) Should I search for people who are already in gambling for Evervictory or Hwao? (Not sure if it would help me to increase my hit rate to submit)
### Caroline comments
- Again, what do you want to ask? Please ask exactly what you want to know. Please answer your question (2) and let me know why
>Odelia : What I was thinking is if people are already in gambling companies(competitors from our clients), it might be easier for me to introduce other gambling companies to them.
(3) How to pitch gambling companies in a proper way to attract cdd? What are cool things they can do in gambling companies? Any specific technical challenges for f2e to work in gambling companies?
For backend, large-scale development might be attractive. But I am not sure for f2e.
Quite many cdds directly told me they don't like gambling companies. I tried to explain that they are still products so they could think from technical perspectives. But my explanation might not be that strong enough. Or i don't need to expain?
### Caroline comments
- There are many types of online gambling companies, can be B2B, B2C, with own products or without, etc. Every Company is different and there is no "specific" answers to what are the "cool" things they can do. Even if it is not an online gambling company, I am not sure how to answer you in terms of what are the "cool" things they can do for APP Company for example. Every Company has different selling points, for example, a note-taking APP and e-shopping APP may have different selling points. The attraction and technical challenges may also differ.
- The reasons why your explanation is not strong enough may be because you do not understand exactly each company's business model and differences.
### Rolo (Caroline)
Your selling point for Rolo is weak. This is how I would sell Rolo:
- The Company's main product is a B2B Chat Platform. You will have the opportunity to re-build the front-end framework from scratch as they are re-designing a new version of the product now.
- The senior leadership team comes from France, UK, and Italy, while the rest of their team are a mix of nationalities. The founders come from IBM and Mindshare and have over 20+ years of experience running international engineering teams. You will get to work with very smart people coming from diverse background & expertise.
- The successful candidate will be in charge of developing the UI of the main product by writing clean and reliable code. To use different technologies to create a highly-scalable client app that seamlessly integrates with the backend API as well as ensuring performance & security. (Product market: APAC)
- They already have lots of clients in SEA, mainly in semiconductors and manufacturing industries and they plan to raise series A mid next year
- Your code will be used in a live product, and you’ll get real feedback from users on how it can be improved. Work closely with users and directly on product to impact business
- Flexible working hours, with 1-2 days remote work options
