Dear Mr. Alex,
I am Nigel, with a bachelor’s degree of Electrical Engineering in Asia Eastern University of Science and Technology. I am writing in response for the position of kernel team in Taiwan.
By chance, I saw Canonical’s recruitment post on open-source related websites. Then I realized that Ubuntu, which I have always been keen to use, is Canonical’s product. I believe that if someone uses Linux desktop system, then this person must know ubuntu. If I can be a part of the team, I think it would be a very honorable thing and challenge.
After reading more details on your email, I think I will be suitable for the device enablement and kernel engineering fields. I have 5 years experiences about MCU/SOC driver porting, so I know how to check schematic with hardware engineer, how to write down c code on RTOS/Linux platform, and how to optimize the system, e.g memory, boot sequence. Besides, depends on my past experience, I known how to find the bug root cause.
According to wireless technology, I am familair with debugging the wireless protocol in our product such as Wireshark and verifying the functions. I can cooperate with customer smoothly to integrate a wireless device to Ubuntu. Iam also familiar with setting up cloud service on AWS, e.g. mqtt.
As for cross culture communication, I had a lot of experience working with global partners when I worked at my first company. Because Canonical has a lot of office and OEM/ODM customers in the world, I think communication skill is important and I believe the skill will help Canonical.
I am enthusiastic about contributing to users. In my past experience, I have made several ODM/OEM’s devices been certified, so when I saw my friend using the operate system, which has a device driver certified by me, I got a ense of accomplishment.
My first electronic products with kernel
I have a lot of electronic products develop experience, If I can , I think it can make me excited. Because I can tell my . I think there is a part of people they use Ubuntu, if you can develop a device and make people use that conveniently. I think it is helpful to them.
I am excited at the opportunity to leverage my expertise and skill with your company. I am looking forward to speaking with you for more detail about this opportunity. Thank you for your time and consideration.
Best,
