    # MyData Operators Awards 2021 (Peer Call) Once the initial applications have been assessed by the review team, the applicant is matched with another applicant for the peer feedback round. The purpose of the peer feedback round (including calls) is to co-learn, network and support improving the general quality of all descriptions of the application. The matched applicants will have the chance to read the public information of the fellow applicant and they may provide general feedback directly in the application platform. This should be completed before the peer call takes place. Peer feedbacks for **Personium** and **Diabetes Services**. ## Feedback for Personium *add feedbacks here* ### Positive aspects of the application (optional) * The use of videos to explain make it easier to understand. * The interoperable work with other MyDataOperators * An open source solution with good available documentation ### Key areas for improvement (optional) * **Explain the concepts Person Unit, Cell, Box in terms of MyData seen from a user perspective.** * Translate the public references into English from Japanes * **Explain how data sources can be used across the linked PDS.** ### Questions and topics for the peer feedback call (optional) How to enable empowerment from datasources and where to find data using services. ## Feedback for [Diabetes Services](https://diabetes.services/) > Diabetes Services is building a human-centric digital ecosystem of data using services for diabetes- and lifestyle management for better health and quality of life. ### Positive aspects of the application (optional) 1. [open-source platform](https://github.com/diabetes-services/MyPCH-SC) 2. flexible to use different components for functional elements. e.g. SC, NextCloud, etc. 3. Personium also use WebDAV and RBAC for permission and storage format. ### Key areas for improvement (optional) 1. Wasn't SC is personal data transfer component, too? I would say the technology level is at least 7. Please check with Christoph. :P 2. Can you also add explanation on how data-using service sends request and retrieves data? 3. It would be nice to give brief description which MyData Operators you are working with and which functional element(s) they provide so that MyData Operators can promote the merits of becoming an operator? ### Questions and topics for the peer feedback call (optional) 1. Are you planning to collaborate with others in Service management, personal data storage? 2. I like your value exchange plan (royalty model). You mentioned anonymous data, how can you provide the value back to the specific user? How about personal data as mentioned in your future of growth example? 3. Can you tell us more about Governance support? Personium is weak at this area and would like to learn from others. 4. Can the platform be used outside of Denmark and Europe? ## Discussion *add discussion notes here* ## Feedback from core reviewers ### Public references ![](https://i.imgur.com/vefVXYK.png) #### Old 1. In this PoC conducted at the financial district of Tokyo, capital of Japan, individuals can share their skills, preferences and work hours (current job) to another companies in order to get the best offers for a second job. Current employer was willing to share the labour data because the employee could gain useful experiences from the second job that in turn contributed back to the current employer. https://pr.fujitsu.com/jp/news/2019/09/12-2.html 3. Personium is used to implement the PDS functions in this Japanese Data Bank Platform. Dai Nippon Printing plans to become the platform provider in Japanese Data Banking. https://pr.fujitsu.com/jp/news/2019/01/29.html Confidential: Personium is used in this Japanese Data Bank Sandbox for companies that want to test the idea of personal data exchange. https://www.dnp.co.jp/news/detail/10158504_1587.html ### Adoption numbers ![](https://i.imgur.com/AxLpK9X.png) #### Old Current usages: One is PDS option in the City as MyData Operator project and another one is the sandbox platform for Japanese Data Banking. Personium uses the open APIs provided by the data sources to retrieve external data. Personium also supports WebDAV and OData APIs for accessing the data saved in the PDS. #### Revised Individuals can either save personal attributes directly to the PDS or use existing Personium apps implemented by the community contributors to retrieve external data using open APIs provided by the data sources. Individual action: an individual can save daily log (work hours and wellbeing statistics) directly through a default portal. Open APIs: Calendar (Google/Microsoft Office 365/ Exchange), Location history (Google), photos, symptom logs, TV broadcast schedule, events (concert, confluence). ### Value exchange ![](https://i.imgur.com/4zScaGt.png) #### Old 1 #### Revised 3 ### Identity management ![](https://i.imgur.com/hZLtxUC.png) ### Value exchange Currently Personium Team does not have enough resource to further develop in value exchange. We are looking for collaborations with another MyData Operators. ### Personal data transfer ![](https://i.imgur.com/KL7DpD1.png) ### Governance support ![](https://i.imgur.com/XSQ4Sao.png) #### Old Personium does not provide any legal governance support since we are just platform provider. However, Personium takes the following efforts to promote healthy ecosystem growth. Operator Ecosystem (Decentralized) Personium Units (PDSs) operated by different operators can communicate with each other securely. Personium enables any operator to be its own ecosystem owner by running its own X509 Certificate Authority and issuing certificates to other operators. App Ecosystem Provide app market framework that review/manage for open-source only apps. #### Revised Personium does not provide any legal governance support since we are just platform provider.
