- We walked through the lava tube first and then drove the road through the park that takes you down to the ocean-- stopped at the steam vents and a couple places along the way to see the Mauna Ulu. We stopped at the petroglyph trail and walked that, and then finished with seeing the arch at the end where the lava meets the ocean which is also an incredible thing to witness. I'd say you can't go wrong driving the road as there's so much to see along the way, definitely a one-of-a-kind place.
