This guide covers everything you can currently do after you've gotten people to sign up to your BA run.
The central feature of Ferne right now is the ability to easily sort attendees into parties. However, no attendee is created equal - there are some who you might want to guarantee a spot first, such as party leaders or first timers.
First things first, you need to see all of the people you want to give priority to in one spot. You can use the attendee list page's search and filter functions for this. For example, party leaders will usually sign up first, so they will be all in one spot if you sort the "signed up at" column. First-timers can be identified by searching for "Never entered", or sorting the column for that field.
Once you have all of the people you'd like, you can click the checkboxes to select them. Shift-clicking a checkbox selects all attendees between the previously checked box and that one. You can also use the "select all" checkbox at the top, it'll select every attendee you can currently see (but not the ones you can't see, e.g. if you searched for something). This could look something like this:
You can then click on the blue button to the right to select all of these attendees for inclusion. Being selected for inclusion (I'm open for a less confusing term) basically means these people are guaranteed a spot in the event and have priority when being assigned to a party. The list might break a little bit when you do this, that's something I'm working on, it just resets the order of things, but your selections are still locked.
People you've selected for inclusion will be highlighted in the attendee list with a blue background, and count toward filling the attendee limit.
Heading over to the party list, you'll want to create the requisite parties via the blue button at the bottom.
You'll notice that the people you've selected come first in the queue to assign, as indicated via the "Selected" label:
Shuffling will also respect this. You can still search for one specific person by typing their name into the field, and pressing enter.
Now, assign parties as you please! You can drag-and-drop attendees to reassign them (this ignores any party restrictions you may have set, such as 1 tank, 1 dps, etc), and hover over their role icon to reassign their role.
You can assign someone as a party leader by clicking the little shield that pops up when you hover over them.
If you want to mark which attendee brings actions like Refresh or Bravery, enable the Titles block in the event settings and use the attendee list to edit their title (a title is just a string that's displayed next to an attendee's name).
Once you're done, click on "Display parties" at the bottom, make sure everything looks alright, and then you can click "Download as image" for something like this:
(yes, it looks kind of weird, i'm still trying to figure out how to reasonably fit all parties in one row)
This doesn't matter right now because nothing really uses this, but if you want to select all people in parties for inclusion in one fell swoop, you can click the button I put in just to do that.
