Artists create procedural art generators using the Geometry Nodes feature of the open-source design tool, Blender.
The open-source Shaderverse add-on for Blender adds new features to Geometry Nodes that make it easy for artists to create and store collections permanently on the Bitcoin blockchain. We have developed a protocol that allows for embedding and retreiving art made in Geometry Nodes into Bitcoin Blockchain the through an interface with the Ordinals system.
The generative art is retrievable by the open-source shaderverse server which can be run locally on Windows, Linux and Mac machines, inside of Blender, in the cloud, and through hosted solutions at shaderverse.com.
This gives artists the opportunity to create genrative art collections that are cost-efficient and where the art generator is stored permanently in every copy of the full Bitcoin Node.
Our system allows for the creation of various types of procedural art, including avatars, pets, and abstract art.
The art made with Shaderverse is deterministically generated, meaning that a unique seed number determines the pseudo-random output.
The open-source nature of Bitcoin, Ordinals, Blender, and Shaderverse ensures that this technology is forever accessible to artists and art collectors alike.
As viewing capabilities improve, artists and collectors can regenerate the art at higher fidelities and higher levels of detail, making this an exciting opportunity for 3D artists and NFT creators.
We have been building these artist-tools / infrastructure since 2021 and have helped some of the top brands in the Web3 space implement our technology including:
Ordinals (launched only days ago) allows for storage of the art generators made by Shaderverse at a hard cost of around only $50 per collection (for a 200KB file)
