https://3speak.tv/watch?v=chessbrotherspro/tvuuudef

@pavarotty vs @blackswan21

Veamos otro interesante caso:

@FCastro17 vs @Dingsparov

7. The player @eniolw took over the number 1 spot in this round, accumulating 6 points, although he didn't have things so easy as he had a stumble. His score was matched by @tungphong (blackswan21 on Lichess), who took the runner-up spot for the occasion undefeated. With this mutual leadership, the rivalry and the eagerness to win can be felt. Close behind in 3rd position came @samostically, who secured his presence among the best players. This round has undoubtedly been one of the most exciting and no player wants to give up. So much so that the positions 3 to 5, occupied by @samostically, @lucianosky and @vjap55, were tied with 5 points. To see the results and the games in detail you can check the following link. After these results, the partial results table gets a bit shaken up. (-15)

Eliana12

1849

0

1

1218

As we can see, at the halfway point of the season the situation at the top of the table remains tense, with @eniolw and @tungphong swapping first place with each other over the last few rounds, separated by just a mere unit. Lurking relatively close behind are @samostically and @tony1294 who in turn have their own rivalry for 3rd place, with @tony1294 being bumped to 4th this time. @lucianosky and @rosmarly, on the other hand, made slight steps, climbing positions that displace @fjcr and Jonbellionfan. During this round, 14 new players joined: Anwielra, Dingsparov, Hruthvik14, KeremC2007, MiodragS, Navid1209, RodrigoMeloBr, SISIR19, XM9000, chessmartin, clamu66, mosalahfromegypt, pjv2020 and punnichero. We also note that having reached the halfway point of the season, 12 players have had a chance to be 100% consistent (@agreste, @eniolw, @fjcr, @lighteye, @lucianosky, @pereu4ivatel, @rodrook, @rosmarly, @samostically, @stayoutoftherz, @tony1294 and @tungphong), participating in all 4 rounds so far, all Hive users. Now, we must make a ⚠️ warning: ⚠️ If you are participating in the league and you have a Hive account, but your Hive user does not appear in the table above, this means that we do not know it. Remember that according to the conditions stated in the announcement post, the prizes will only apply to those players who have a Hive account. Such is the case of these Lichess players: Anwielra, DANNY9192sj, Dingsparov, Edixonluna1987, Eliana12, Emiliano120, Howarth, Hruthvik14, JMPC81, Jonbellionfan, KeremC2007, Lastholy, Maximiliano2013, MiodragS, Navid1209, RodrigoMeloBr, SISIR19, chessmartin, clamu66, madykrise, mosalahfromegypt, pjv2020, punnichero and sammy42069. Please let us know in the comments if you have a Hive account. Also, if you are a new user who is participating in the tournament as part of the Checkmate Boredom on Hive initiative organized in collaboration with @Aliento Project, then feel free to leave us your username and contestant post in the comments section. In the video included in this post, these results are further analyzed. Now let's take a look at the games, let's talk about...
The most tenacious games!
From our perspective, this round was the most hard-fought so far. The games promote this fighting spirit. @lucianosky and @tungphong have become great badges of this tournament with a clash between youth and experience. Their game left us quite satisfied, because despite the fact that the Vietnam player, @tungphong, had extra material in the endgame, Luciano's solid defense withstood the hard onslaught and managed to save the half point. We advise you to check this game, as it will provide you with a great learning experience. Let's see a key moment of it:

@pavarotty vs @blackswan21

In this "equalized" position, which was reached after more than 90 moves of hard fighting, Black can continue to force and try to get something. But the time pressure will not allow him to play with due precision. At this point Black played 92.... Nd2+ 93. Ke2 Nc4 and perhaps at that point the white piece player relaxed and lost objectivity. Black's threat is to play Ne3 gaining a second pawn and with it the game. So that after 94. Bb8?? White could have collapsed, but fortunately for them Black did not notice. As we said, the move Ne3 is winning (see diagram).

Position after the successful 94... Ce3, a golden opportunity wasted and that could have given @tungphong the first place of the event.

But Black overlooked this detail. After 94... f3?+ everything was completely equalized and the chances of taking the point vanished. It continued with 95. gxf3+ Kh3 and after 96. Bxg3 there is nothing to do but sign the peace. Let's look at another interesting case:

@FCastro17 vs @Dingsparov

White has squandered his great material advantage. Now Black's dangerous passed pawn comes to life. Black finds 61... Bb4! which is a great defensive effort. It was followed by 65. Rc8+ Kb5 66. Rb8+ Kxa5 and now watch out! Black might have some winning chances if White doesn't find the precise moves. The game continued 64. Rb8 b2 65. Rb1 Bd2! threatening to obstruct the action of the white rook, 66. Rb1 Bc1 67. Kd5 Kb4! and Black has more than enough to secure a draw. After 68. h4 Kc3 69. h5 Kc2 and a few more forced moves, they reach a draw due to insufficient material.

Announcement and Rules of Round 5

1. It will take place on Lichess.org. 2. Join the Chess Brothers team. 3. Date and time: Sunday, November 7th at 19 GMT (3pm Venezuelan time). 4. Format and time control: This time we will do something more interesting. As we said in the league rules, the pairing system and time control of tournaments 5, 6, 7 and 8 will be defined by the community. You must vote for the TC and format you prefer. The consultation is now open through Dpoll. Visit this article to participate in the voting. On Saturday 11/13/2021 the winning choice will be announced via an update on this post. 5. The first 10 places of each tournament accumulate 14, 12, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4 and 4 points respectively. The rest of the players get 1 point as long as they have played at least 3 games. 6. The tie-breaking system will be determined by Lichess. 7. For more information about this season 2 of the Chess Brothers league, visit this post. 8. The link to the tournament will be placed in this post after the voting mentioned in point 4 has finished.

Acknowledgments and Final Words

We express our sincere thanks to all users and communities that in one way or another support this project. Such is the case of The Chess Community, its leaders @stayoutoftherz, @schamangerbert and @jaki01 and its player base, who maintain an unconditional presence since the beginning of the league.
