This website will allow you to check up on one of the cherry tomato plants in my windowsill. We keep track of the air temperature, humidity, soil moisture and light levels and present it as graphs.
The thing is a LoPy4 hooked up with 3 sensors:
DHT11 - Temperature/Humidity Sensor
TSL2591 - Light Sensor
VMA303 - Soil Moisture Sensor

Kalmar municipality presented a few IoT projects for the students at Lnu autumn 2020. One project included an IoT solution for the watering of plants and trees in the county. Such a solution would let Kalmar municipality avoid long travels to remote locations to check if a plant or tree needs water and the amount of water used can be reduced. This is beneficial for the economy and the environment.
The goal for this project is to have soil sensors measuring moisture and communicating the value with LoRaWAN technology. The value is sent to an Android application. Value and location are displayed for the end-user.

Nowadays a lot of people feel like we are living in an increasingly insecure society where you constantly hear and read about break ins in the news. This leads to people looking for higher levels of home security than simply just having locks on the doors. The goal for what the final product of this project will include is 3 different sensors that will each in their own specific way discover if someone breaks into your home and in that case activate the camera, a camera that will record what goes on in the residence and a web server that will host a website where you can both view all videos recorded and watch a livestream of what goes on in your home at all times.

These projects are all done by first year students at Software Engineering and Computer Technology at Linnaeus University in Kalmar and Växjö, during the winter 2020/21. They were given free hands to develop an idea and work with an internet of things projects during five weeks. This is the outcome.

This project aims to provide an better alternate method of keeping track of parking spaces in a parking lot. The current setup is stationary and prone to faults, thus the soulution should be a reliable and portable one.
A portable device to be placed on each driving lane was developed, making use of a motion detector sensor. The sensor is triggered when a car passes over it and data is sent to an app that presents the live number of available parking spaces.

This program was made to learn how to use and make IOT devices, and how devices talk to one another. It isn't made to replace another contoller, more a test on how mqtt protocol would handle the commucation beetwen the contoller and a computer. The unit that the gamepy was build upon was a lopy4 unit from pycom, it has four different methods of communication: bluetooth, Lora, Sigfox and Wifi. Our first iterations of the program was mainly focused on making the device talk through bluetooth which we later changed to use wifi. Currently the controller has two joysticks and one button programmed. The contoller speaks with the computer through a local MQTT broker, then the computer uses those inputs with the library PyDirectInput to simulate button presses and mouse movements.
