    # **_Blood Donation Management System_** ### Team members: * Oscar Agyei (o.agyei@jacobs-university.de) * Vincent Sortoh (v.sortoh@jacobs-university.de) * Kritkorn Supyen (k.supyen@jacobs-university.de) * Subash Chandra Pal (su.pal@jacobs-university.de) ## Description of System The Blood Donation/Bank Management System is an integrated web based application that enables a centralized management of blood donation activities, storage and dispensation of blood in blood banks in a given country. The portal can be used to create blood donation drives/campaigns. A campaign or drive is a donation event created by a blood bank or a hospital based on some criteria such( blood inventory has gone below a given threshold) or upon request by an organization. Organizations such NGOs, Clubs, etc. can use the system to request for blood donation drives. Once the donation request is created in the system, a staff with the appropriate role or right will create a donation event/campaign which would be assigned to a campaign team and a donation site. Prospective donors can register with the system. The following information is collected during the registration. Name, contact details, an identification number and blood group. To donate blood, the donor has to login to the system, book an appointment online before visiting the donation site. During the appointment booking, a prospective donor would be screened via a set of questionnaires to know for example if they smoke, are diabetic etc. The booking will be successful only when the donor passes the screening test. Upon successful booking a confirmation code which will be sent to the contact address provided. This code will be used to track activities related to the booking. At the donation site the donor will give the tracking code to the nurse who will confirm the details of the code in the system. The user blood group is taken and recorded into the system. After the donation the pints of blood taken, the bag(used to collect blood) serial and batch numbers, donor , appointment are recorded. The donated bloods are sent to the lab for further testing. At the lab, the lab technicians would record the details of the received blood into the system. After testing the details of fit to use blood are added to blood bank inventory. This inventory represents the pool of blood that can be requested and administered to patients. ### Online library Management System divided in two modules– * Student / User * Campaigin ## What the user can do *There are different users of the application Below are the action that can be performed by the differents users* ### Donor: A donor is a person who donates blood - Register to become and donor - Login into the application - View the blood donation schedule/Events - Book appointment to donate blood - View Blood test results - View donation history - Search donation activities booking confirmation code or serial number - View Advance Blood Test Results - can help the donor monitor his or her health after every donation ### NGO’s, Clubs, Companies: Any group that want to organize a campaign drive in collaboration with a hospital or a blood bank - Register as an organization - Can login - Request To Organize a Donation Drive - View History Donation Events - Generate and Download Reports ### Public Anybody that access the url of the application with the sol - Can View info/education message page - Can Register if they want to - View Blood Donation Site/Campaigns - Can Search for a blood donation campaign/drive in his or her location ### Lab & Blood Bank Staff Will be able to - Enter deatils of dobateblood received from campaing drive - Enter the test result of received bload samples - Generate Reports - Print Reports ## The Librarian will be able to * log in to the system using a different authentication * include new books * validate a student * have access to view borrowed books and the students involved * print reports ## What the user cannot do and what happens when they try it * include new books.
