  • Introduction Site Recovery helps ensure business continuity by keeping business applications and workloads performing during outages. Site Recovery copies workloads performed on physical and virtual machines (VMs) from the primary platform to the secondary location. When your primary platform is interrupted, you are mistakenly moved to a secondary location from where you access the application. After performing again at the primary location, you can tolerate fault-tolerant replies. Scenario When you enable replication for a VM to set up disaster recovery, the Site Recovery Mobility service extension installs on the VM and registers it with Azure Site Recovery. During replication, VM disk writes are sent to a cache storage account in the source region. Data is sent from there to the target region, and recovery points are generated from the data. When you failover a VM during disaster recovery, a recovery point is used to restore the VM in the target region. Prerequisites An Azure account with Azure Subscription Confirm the VM configurations was in the Support List

  • Introduction Azure DMS (Database Migration Service) is a fully managed service designed to enable seamless migrations from multiple database sources to Azure data platforms with minimal downtime. Scenario In this lab, you will use Azure DMS (Database Migration Service) to migrate the databases from an on-premises PostgreSQL instance to Azure Database for PostgreSQL with minimal downtime. In other words, migration can be achieved with minimum downtime to the application. Prerequisites An Azure account with Azure Subscription

  • Introduction Azure DMS (Database Migration Service) is a fully managed service designed to enable seamless migrations from multiple database sources to Azure data platforms with minimal downtime. Azure DMS provides database Online data migration feature that DMS will create a connection make source MySQL database and target Azure database for MySQL keep in sync. When the source data are all migrated to the target database. Users can Cutover the workload to Azure Database for MySQL anytime. Scenario In this lab, we will use Azure Virtual Machine and Virtual Network to simulate an on-premise environment. Next, we will use the MySQL function to insert some data into a new table. Then we will use Azure DMS to migrate the databases from an on-premises MySQL instance to Azure Database for MySQL with Online Migration. Finally, we can test the replication and cutover anytime. Note: Before cutover the database workload, you should confirm two things

  • Introduction Azure Migrate provides a centralized hub to assess and migrate to Azure on-premises servers, infrastructure, applications, and data. It provides the following: Unified migration platform: A single portal to start, run, and track your migration to Azure. Range of tools: A range of tools for assessment and migration. Azure Migrate tools include Azure Migrate: Discovery and assessment and Azure Migrate: Server Migration. Azure Migrate also integrates with other Azure services and tools, and with independent software vendor (ISV) offerings. Assessment and migration: In the Azure Migrate hub, you can assess and migrate: Windows, Linux and SQL Server: Assess on-premises servers including SQL Server instances and migrate them to Azure virtual machines or Azure VMware Solution (AVS) (Preview).
