I want to talk about a project called Nostrocket which is something I've been working on and recently recieved an opensats grant.
Bitcoin means you dont have to think about money and payments, what I'm trying to do with nostrocket is the same thing for organising human action.
So that everyone can work on a shared project without needing to solve the problem of what work peple should do, the direction of the project, how to distribute revenue.
The way we organize at the moment is with a compnay structure.
Nested under the state. This is a big problem if you're doing something that the state doesn't like. (LLC BAD, new regulations)
It also forces the everything to be centrally planned, which leaves those at the bottom with less agency and less ability to creatively apply their talents to any given project
---
There are a few projects launching on Nostrocket, so were' going to kind of explain what nostrocket is and then talk about some projects that are using it.
SO first we'll introduce nostrocket and why Arkinox is using it
* Way to incentivise contributors to your open source project
* First you break down your roadmap into bite sized problems by starting with .... and becoming more granular until they can be solved by a potential contributor
* Problems have to descend from the root problem, which is that humanity isn't living up to its full potential. This directs all problems towards the improvement of civilisation in some small way.
* Any contributor can solve a problem and request merits for solving it
* Imagine if the commit graph of a github project determined your right to any future revenue that the project makes. That's what merits are.
* If the project generates revenue, that revenue is paid directly to contirbutors through their merits. Payments are sent directly from the customer to the contributor with bitcoin/lightning.
* Because contributors are incentivised in this way, they focus on solutions in the critical path to revenue.
----
We imagine a world where anyone can work on any project, and they don't need to think about what's fair etc etc
----
Here's 3 of my projects, here's what they would look like without nostrocket, and with nostrocket
Without nostrocket:
I own the project
I own all future revenue of the project.
I control how much, when, and who is compensated for contributing.
I control what people can contribute and the direction of the project.
I'm also on the hook for recruiting, fundraising, running a business, liability to governments, etc
It's not good for me, it's not good for the contributors, it's not good for the project.
With nostrocket:
No one owns the project (just like fiatjaf doesn't own nostr)
Revenue is distributed? proporitonally to contributors by their merits, at the time of payment by a customer
The direction of the project is set by contributors, with every contribution
