\section{Introduction}
In this Era, wireless communication has been considered as one of the important aspect of economic growth of the country. Considering the importance of wireless communication, numerous countries are investing time, effort and money into the growth of future information and communication technology (ICT) industry. Many countries around the globe established IT and ICT research centers to contribute to the betterment of the world through ICT. Apart from this, it is also important to establish a knowledge-based societies by creating a close relationship between higher education and industry. Considering the example of Sweden as one of dominating ICT countries with a largest ICT sector in Nordic region. Sweden is taking innovative approach to overturns the ecosystem of existing industries to create numerous business opportunities by converging with more diverse industrial fields. Sweden is actively participating to promoting convergence of industry to open new-renaissance era like the Internet of Things (IoT).
IoT refers to the every day things that can be connected to the data that we can use to make our lives easier in many ways. Examples include smart locks, smart scales, smart home appliances such as coffee machines and so on. Apart from daily lives personal use items, the companies and industries leveraging on IoT to automate or simplify the processes to reduce cost, waste and time consumption. In the run long at industrial level, IoT has a potential to bring down consumer goods prices and improving overall economy of the country. Similarly, the technological change led by IoT supports sustainability by minimizing energy and waste and bringing automation to optimize the use of natural resources. According to World Economic Forum report, around 85$\%$ of IoT deployment are addressing the sustainability goals.
Considering the aforementioned potential benefits, Linnaeus University in Sweden opened a state-of-the art Applied IoT research facility. The objective of this laboratory to facilities the IoT research, create a knowledge-based society and solve-real world problems by creating a close relationship between higher education and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). To achieve these goals, applied IoT research lab has initiated number of pilot cases and workshops for Linnaeus University, Sweden.
