### [Article #1](https://www.audleytravel.com/japan/best-time-to-visit#sep)
* Best time to visit Japan is during spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November)
* Rainy season occurs from the end of May until the middle of June or July.
* Take Japan’s national holidays into account: Shogatsu (Japanese New Year), Obon (in mid-August or mid-July, depending on the area), and the Golden Week (between April 29 and May 5)
* Personal opinion: "My favourite time of year to travel to Japan is in May after the cherry blossom season and Golden Week crowds die down. The weather warms up and the heat is dry and the countryside of Japan becomes lush with beautiful green foliage. Not only that, but this is the only time of year to view the wisteria flowers in full bloom in Japan. One of the largest festivals and parades in Tokyo, Sanja Matsuri, happens around this time of the year as well (May 16-21). Over a hundred shrines are paraded through the streets of Asakusa alongside geisha and other people dressed in traditional costume"
* March - The cherry blossom spreads north through mainland Japan. As this season is a popular time to visit Japan, the country gets very busy toward the end of the month.
* May - Asakusa in Tokyo is the centre for the Sanja Matsuri, held on the third full weekend in May. Colourful floats and shrines, accompanied by musicians and dancers in traditional Edo period costumes parade between Sensoji Temple and Asakusa Shrine.
### [Article #2](https://www.audleytravel.com/japan/places-to-go/okinawa)
* Late March and early April are beautiful, but it’s one of the most crowded and expensive times of year.
* Mid to late May is great, pleasant weather & not so many crowds
* The weather in spring (mid-March to May) is notoriously fickle (4 to 18 °C)
* The “worst” of peak cherry blossom season lasts from mid-March until around mid-April, and in terms of popularity and crowds it’s comparable to Europe during summer vacations.
* This means, more tourists, lower accommodation availability, higher accommodation prices, need to plan much further in advance.
* We typically begin receiving requests for cherry blossom season up to a year in advance or more.
* One week in spring that we definitely recommend avoiding, unless you simply have no choice: Golden Week
* Mid to late May can be a wonderful time to be in Japan, too, and tends to have a good combination of warmer temperatures and fewer tourists (though even May is starting to become popular)
### [Article #3](https://www.travelandleisure.com/travel-tips/best-time-to-visit-japan)
* Months from March to May and September to November are generally considered the best times to visit the country.
* The country generally sees the least number of visitors from mid-January through March
### [Article #4](https://www.japan-guide.com/e/e2273.html)
* Domestic travel activity increases in the second half of March due to spring school holidays.
* However, the remainder of May is one of the best times for visiting Japan, as the vegetation has become lush, the temperatures are still comfortable and tourists spots tend to be relatively uncrowded.
### [Article #5](https://travellersworldwide.com/best-time-to-visit-japan/)
* The best time to enjoy Japan’s pleasant weather and beautiful scenery is April through May or mid-October through November.
* If you want to see the beauty of Japan on a budget, the winter months of December through February will be your best bet.
* Due to the unique climate of East Asia, the rainy, tsuyu, weather of late May through June and August through September make for Japan’s least busy times of the year.
* Due to the highest threat of typhoons, the worst time to visit Japan is August through mid-October.
* Pack for every type of weather
* Many people opt for touring the most popular Japanese cities of Tokyo, Sapporo, Kyoto, and Osaka which contain historical and modern points of interest.
### [Article #6](https://www.twowanderingsoles.com/blog/best-time-to-visit-japan)
* You’ll have the best chance of comfortable weather and fewer crowds in early spring (March – early April) and in autumn (late October – November).
* Best chances of seeing Mount Fuji: Based on data from years past, you will have the highest chance of seeing Mount Fuji between the months of November and February.
* March: Temperatures are still cool, but it noticeably warms throughout the month. Skiing season in the mountains is starting to wind down, and toward the end of the month the first cherry blossoms start to reveal themselves.
* May: Very nice weather during the month of May — warm temperatures and sunny skies. Though it is technically the start of typhoon season, strong storms are very rare during the month of May.

* Late March to early April is peak season throughout much of the country.
* If your visit falls in late May when the cherry blossom season is over, you can still immerse yourself in beautiful foliage at one of Japan’s many flower parks. These include magical wisteria tunnels.
