Overall, I think that my past work was good but not over the expectations. The best thing was that I was able to keep a good pace of work, learning, and initiative. The bad thing was that in my first week my project has a not good UI and code style (but is acceptable because we had less time and was the first approach to Android), the second one was good, the 3 week, started good incorporate the code feedback of my manager but at the end I struggle with a lot of bugs that don't be able to solve and affect my quality work.
One thing that I grow during the course was my collaboration skills when I gain confidence to ask and help other peolple.
### How closely does the work match your skills and interests?
During my 2 years of college, I develop skills in data science, algorithms, math, statistics, problem solver. One of my actuals interest are about tech ethic and social issues. So, I decided develop a problem to help to solve one of the biggest issues in Mexico: _woman insecurity_.
In this project, I try to integrate all my actual skills and interests in 3 phases. The first one, with the android app, I try to develop a platform that recolect the need data for make analysis. The second one, is implements my data science and statistic knowlodege to develop a algorithms and data visualization to get useful information and tools to bring to the people. The third phase is a overall phase that use all my skills as problem solver, resilence, curiosity and perseverance to get all the feature at time and with the most innovation possible keep in mind the social responsability as goal.
### What has gone well?
I was get used to code in python for the last year, but for the internship I have to return to Java and try for first Android Studio. The most well thing is that I be able to understand almost all the code and be able to implemented and found bugs as my normal speed in Python. So, I don't lose any abilitie in my overall coding skills. I only have to read more documentation and get use of the tools of Android Studio and API
### What do you feel you need to work on during the second half of your internship?
Unfortunately, I'm not that independent. I learn more from teachers and mentors. So I struggle a bit when I try to learn something on my own and I don't see it as a consistent example. That's one of my skills that I want to improve this summer so I can use more tools.
Another thing to work on is my ability to speak and write in English. This causes me problems to socialize and ask questions for fear of being judged for my bad speech.
And the last one is my mental care. I'm a workaholic with 0 work balance in life. My productivity something go down for my self-put stress and don't take breaks.
### How has your overall experience been so far this term?
The overall experince are awesome. The incorporation to Meta was smooth. All the people are useful and helpful to catch your goals in the intership
### What did you like the most, the least?
_The good:_
The overall codepath course are great. It's a nice introduction to the android developer world given the basics knowledge and tools to start to develop one app. Also, the envioroment with the metamates are awesome. I enjoy a lot talk with all the people, everybody has a lot of interest and background you can learn from.
_The bad:_
The bad organization and coordinations between Meta and Codepath. Codepath has short amount of time for the proyects and we are rushing trying to get the features and something is diffcult get all the things because we also have to fullfill the meta stuff that use time. I think if the coordination is better we can catch all the stuff without rush and have a better experience.
