Starting January 30, v13.40 of Fortnite on iOS and Google Play will become unavailable to players under 18, Epic Games has announced. Although Fortnite was removed from the iOS, macOS and Google Play stores in August 2020, the game is still playable by users who already had it installed, but it’s been stuck on the v13.40 update and been somewhat buggy. Players will also no longer be able to spend V-Bucks, the games in-app currency, beginning January 30. “We want all versions of our games to use the current suite of Epic Online Services including parental controls, purchasing defaults, and parental verification features,” the company said in a tweet. “We are not able to update the app on these platforms given Apple and Google’s restrictions on Fortnite.” We want all versions of our games to use the current suite of Epic Online Services including parental controls, purchasing defaults, and parental verification features. That same month, Epic Games agreed to pay $520 million in fines related to allegations from the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) that Fortnite violated the Children’s Online Privacy Act and also tricked people into making unintentional purchases.
1/25/2023Last update 18 January 2023, It appears the Lamborghini electrified V-12 supercar set to replace the Aventador has been revealed early. Motor1 has discovered patent drawings filed by Lamborghini last November with the World Intellectual Property Organization, for a supercar that's likely to be the Aventador successor due out later this year. Information included with the patent lists Mitja Borkert, Lamborghini's current design chief, as the designer of the car in the drawings. Many of the details also match elements seen on prototypes for the Aventador successor, such as the heavy cut lines of the hood, the position of the headlights, the lines of the side blades, and the Y-shaped taillights. The design appears to be influenced by the Terzo Millennio, a 2017 concept that shares many of the elements shown here.
1/17/2023Last Update 17 January 2023 1953 Dodge Storm Z-250 The Dodge Storm Z-250 was the brainchild of advertising executive Fred Zeder, whose father (also named Fred) was a key figure in the early days of Chrysler and had worked on the Airflow models. The younger Zeder specified a Hemi V-8 and a tube-frame chassis with interchangeable bodies—one for on-road touring and one for racing. The Bertone-designed body shown here was designed to be removed by unscrewing just four bolts and replaced with a lighter fiberglass body for racing. It's unknown if the fiberglass body was actually built, Kendall noted. The car was originally white with a black roof, with different hub caps than the ones currently fitted. The Storm appeared at the 1953 Turin auto show, but it may have made other undocumented show appearances as well. It made quite a splash when Zeder parked it outside his Manhattan office, attracting so much attention that police got involved, Kendall said.
1/16/2023He replaces Jost Capito, who left the squad at the end of 2022 after just two seasons, and will be only the third team principal at Williams after Capito and team founder Frank Williams. Vowles is an F1 veteran with 21 years of experience in the sport, with most of that time spent with the hugely successful Mercedes-Benz AMG F1 team, where he served as an engineer and more recently as its head of strategy. He also worked at the previous incarnations of the Mercedes team, Brawn GP and Honda before that. “I cannot wait to start with Williams Racing,” Vowles said in a statement. “The team is an icon of our sport, one I greatly respect, and I am very much looking forward to the challenge.” Vowles will have a sense of familiarity at Williams as the team uses Mercedes power units. There's even speculation that with Vowles in charge of Williams, there could be closer collaboration with his former team in the future.
