# The Concerned Classmate ![](https://media.giphy.com/media/jQW3hLZ1W990afbXm9/giphy.gif) ## Background and Demographic Information * _Fictional Name_: Anxious Andy * _Demographics_: college student, tech-savvy * _Psychographics_: health-conscious * _Overheard quote_: "I want to be on campus, but I don't want to get COVID!" ## Narrative The concerned student has been in quarantine for the past three months, and is absolutely terrified of getting COVID-19. And not only that, but they're also really worried that if they got it, they may be spreading it to those around them. Though the concerned student checks their temperature every morning and is incredibly vigilent, they're worried that their peers aren't doing the same. They were super excited when they heard about this app because they're hoping to avoid COVID-19 hotspots and be contacted when they've been near someone who's tested positive. * Attitudes * Needs * Problems/Concerns * Experience ## Behavioral and Dimensional Information * __Goals and Motivations:__ They want this app to tell alert them right away when if they've been near someone who has coronavirus, and they want some way to track areas to avoid. They also want some way to alert the system and their peers if they have coronavirus. * __Tasks:__ In order to accomplish this, the concerned student will actively check for coronavirus hotspots, and plan their day accordingly. Also, they will notify the app if they have any symptons. * __Pain Points, Concerns, and Challenges:__ They're concerned that their peers aren't actively using the app. Also, they're worried that some people may put in false data to trick the system. * __User Flow__ * If they see they have a temperature one morning they will immediately input that they have symptoms * Any time they leave their dorm they will check to make sure they're not going into a COVID-19 hotspot * They will enable alerts for COVID-19 updates in their area # The Sick Scholar ![sketch/picture](https://media.giphy.com/media/3Jc2yugkT3vDW/giphy.gif) ## Background and Demographic Information * _Fictional Name_: Sick Sam * _Demographics_: college student * _Psychographics_: semi-selfless, not self-conscious about sickness * _Overheard quote_: "I just want to do my part to help Dartmouth get back to normal and keep my friends safe." ## Narrative *Sam is a Dartmouth student who has tested positive or is showing symptoms of COVID-19. They are worried about friends, family members, and classmates who they might infect and thus intend to use GreenTrace to help others stay aware of their level of danger. Contracting the virus can be a very stressful experience, so we want to make sure Sam feels like they are doing their part to help prevent its spread and keep others safe.* ## Behavioral and Dimensional Information * __Goals and Motivations:__ *Inform others of contact with an infected individual* * __Tasks:__ *Dowload our app and make sure to enter that they have COVID-19 and the date of their positive test* * __Pain Points, Concerns, and Challenges:__ *Making sure others are informed while maintaining privacy* __User Flow__ * Dowloads the app * Records positive test or display of symptoms * Updates as status changes # The Apathetic Academic ![](https://media.giphy.com/media/d7nd6bdypnYjGT1jP3/giphy.gif) ## Background and Demographic Information * _Fictional Name_: Apathetic Academic * _Demographics_: college student, tech-savvy * _Psychographics_: confident, smart, believes in their immune system * _Overheard quote_: "I just don't get what all the fuss is about!" ## Narrative *Short narrative or description about the user and why they're using your product/service (try to capture their attitudes, needs, problems/concerns, and experience)* The Apathetic Academic is only using this app because they are required to. They believe in their immune system, and they aren't concerned about the current pandemic because they are young, they have a very stable medical history, and they love springtime in Hanover and see all of the COVID-related commotion as overly dramatized. They need to be able to come back to campus in order to thrive and see their friends. They are most concerned about maintaining their academic record and continuing to play on their varsity team, and they are upset that all of these opportunities were cut short for no reason. They are concerned about using this app because they care a lot about the privacy of their data and don't want some student-created fiasco tracking their every move. (And for the last time, no, it's not because they're up to anything sketchy.) They want the experience of this app to be as painless as possible. They don't want to use it anyway, so they want their interaction with it to be as minimal as possible. ## Behavioral and Dimensional Information * __Goals and Motivations:__ *Get back to campus and back into their normal routine* * __Tasks:__ *Use the app in order to be cleared to return* * __Pain Points, Concerns, and Challenges:__ *Data tracking, privacy, minimizing interaction with the device* * _User Flow_ *1. Download the app (in order to be allowed back on campus.) 2. Subscribe to mandatory notifications. 3. Look at the map on occasion if it's open. 4. Monitor notifications for ones that they have come in contact with an infected person or that someone has been diagnosed with COVID or is being texgted for it on campus. 5. Alert everyone that they've been in contact with that they're being tested. 6. Go to Dick's House and get a verified COVID-free verification. 7. Alert everyone that they've been in contact with that they are COVID-free.* # The Administration ![](https://www.andersonfrank.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/giphy-6.gif) ## Background and Demographic Information * _Fictional Name_: Kathryn Lively * _Demographics_: College administrator * _Psychographics_: health-conscious * _Overheard quote_: "I want students to be able to come back to campus in the fall, but I want to ensure the safety of our students at the same time" ## Narrative The College administration wants to make a fall semester possible, but they also have to keep the health of students a top priority. They want to use the app, so that they can monitor the spread of COVID-19 on campus and take preventative actions. ## Behavioral and Dimensional Information * _Goals: and Motivations: Keep students healthy, enable a residential fall term_ * _Tasks: Monitor the spread of COVID-19 as the term progresses and take preventative action to stop the spread_ * _Pain Points: Concerns, and Challenges: How much of the student body will use GreenTrace. For Greentrace to be effectice, a majority of the campus has to use the app. Validity of location data on Greentrace._ * _User Flow: Download the app, turn on notifications, monitor the spread of COVID_ # Feature Spec ## User Personas * [The Concerned Student](https://github.com/dartmouth-cs52-20S/project-greentrace/issues/2) * [The Sick Scholar](https://github.com/dartmouth-cs52-20S/project-greentrace/issues/3) * [The Apathetic Academic](https://github.com/dartmouth-cs52-20S/project-greentrace/issues/4) * [The Administration](https://github.com/dartmouth-cs52-20S/project-greentrace/issues/5) ## Feature List * Primary Features * 🔥 Contact tracing * 🔥 Notifications based on previous contact * 🔥 Ability to report if user tested positive or showing symptoms * Secondary Features * 💼 Map visualization of hot spots (places with increased risk of coronavirus transmission) * 💼 Administration portal * 💼 General Coronavirus information (policy of what you should do, etc.) * Stretch Goals * 🏹 Family notifications * 🏹 Ability to notify the administration of specific students who have tested positive * 🏹 Web equivalent
