    # Governance and DAO design Squad Goals and Priorities by Quarter ###### tags: `governance`, 'DAO' `priorities` > Objective: prioritise which DAO and governance work streams to focus on, what needs to be done for each stream and who is responsible By making it easier for DAO members to govern, grow and benefit from the protocol we will help increase token holder excitement # Governance and DAO Activation Tactics: Quarter 2 ### 4 month focus mid May to end August ## Overview: DAO activation * After pushing a lot we're not seeing inbound energy from engineering, ecosystem,in the slack. * There is pretty good engagement from Active Contributors in the slack or the forum It's ok, we have to work with *'what is'* Right now we're deep in a bear and we haven't shipped much in the last months, therefore it's hard to expect an influx of both energy and users. However, this will change, especially with the following events that users really care about and which will bring more energy (and people) into the DAO: - Token utility governed, built and shipped - Transaction fees governed and shipped - Staking on pools governed, built and shipped *Estimated approx 19 September* GOALS: - Onboarding (clear, good retention) - Governance (clear process, used more by external users) - Maintenance of the current community feeling We need to ensure experts who become users (i.e. ) will onboard have a smooth path ensure joining Centrifuge is smooth, retain experts) * All DAO, governance information is hosted in Documentation * DAO Handbook created for onboarding (Orhan, Fran) * User specific guides created (i.e. for a defi native who doesn't know about on chain credit and RWAs, TradFi expert who needs a quick guide to RWA+DeFi) (Orhan) In the interim (i.e. before the Autumn trifecta) ## Governance #### Treasury spending proposal (start draft, propose as RFC week starting 5th June) Cassidy, Ivan Kate draft the spending proposal, Nicolo inputs and posts it #### Linked Pools RFC (proposed as a RFC next week) Frederik (supported by Ivan/Cassidy) * This needs to be proposed first before the PEG takes further steps on the Roadmap * RFC -> Opensuare (15th June?) #### Staking proposal (shared as an draft next week, RFC week starting the 5th) (Ivan, supported by Cassidy) * Staking Proposal Jeroen, Frederick, checking with Eli * Build excitement around the proposal i.e. marketing talks about it, share it in next Gov Call/AC * RFC (Should the RFC period be open for longer) -> Opensuare (15th June?) * Note: Batch opensquare proposals? #### Resource Allocation Group Mandate (Nicolo) * Draft the mandate for the Resource Allocation group * Understand who is needed * Work out incentives for contributors * Headhunt a facilitator (a Resource expert from another DAO - coordinator like Mark) * Nicolo and facilitator co-propose * Form the group and make the RFC (week staring ) #### Delegation (still in scoping) Debate launched with publication of Ivan's research Gov call 24th May - Kate and Cassidy work on the prototype Discovery of what is needed (forum), possible integrations/tooling, design of optimal solution (done in Forum and in Calls) RFC forming end of June Lucas dependencies - Check staking proposal - Give feedback on Resource Management initial proposal and group mandate **Marketing <> Governance Overlap** * How do marketing market governance proposals * Workshopping the newsletter * Marketing Newsletter * Take Forum newsletter and weekly update * One monthly general newsletter - very short paragraph at the beginning: here's what's interesting this week, here's what you should expect in this newsletter One monthly governance newsletter - very short paragraph at the beginning: here's what's interesting this week, here's what you should expect in this newsletter - what's happened, what's happening (cassidy) - interesting meta stuff (Kate) Capital Incentives Investments Programme (Kate) - Scoping - draw out brief and dependencies - Needs to be owned, executed, delivered by someone who is not Colin ## Thought leadership: Refocus on the forum and content - Refocus on the Forum - writing about Governance (get 3x 'thought leaders' to write pieces - could 1 be Mark? 2 others (pay 5K CFG)) - Publicising the parts of the Founding Docs - [[Why we have Active Contributors ](https://docs.google.com/document/d/1OfGQ-EdBJkuCR14_h2EYC7OkgQZUs9glfwg3JnGIzqc/edit#heading=h.nsygyyvhqabx)](https://)(11 May) - Delegation (12 May) - our [[Govnernance as the Frontlines](https://docs.google.com/document/d/160dPfmnC9b9-wnuRgH2wEuLy9ui-RiBJ3x32BEepaGE/edit)](https://) (20 July) - New category: RWAs as the Hub - State of the Market Report - Governance newsletter (monthly newsletter with 'implications' and hot takes on governance) ## Maintenance New energy, more expertise - Slowly pull in Active Contributors - New ambassador programme - Focus on experts - Recruit from other DAOs # DAO ACTIVATION AND GOVERNANCE QUARTER ONE Goals - [ ] 1.
