Thunderlord:
7/20/2023GeForce Now (GFN) General 👍 Positive Closest experience to a local game session in terms of both quality and performance, including support for ray tracing. Links to existing storefronts (Steam, Epic, Ubisoft) and allows you to stream your existing purchases. You don't buy games on GFN, you buy them directly on the linked stores. Almost 1500 games are available (22/10/2022), with more titles being added each week. The opt-in model drastically lowers the chances of games being removed in the future. There is no limited timeframe for availability - all games stay available once supported. 👎 Negative
3/30/2023Shutdown Notice I don't think most people realize just how sudden these news/changes came. The team working on updates for the web experience (both mobile and desktop) just pushed updates (a new homescreen) to the web version to be rolled out a day before this was made public — it's still rolling out. There's even more updates including new features that would've been released in the future months, with the team working as usual — nobody in the Stadia team including community managers, project management and more knew anything about this change until less than an hour before it went public. I mean, it's just a meeting, isn't it? Publishers, devs and even partnered studios got no notice either. Size doesn't matter here: The day it was announced, Ubisoft was still updating infos (and Stadia references for releases) about multiple planned releases for Q1/Q2 next year. Wired Production tweeted about the upcoming Stadia Pro titles just before the announcement went live and Clockwork Origins was in an interview with the german talkshow Cloudplay less than a week ago, talking about the future of his games on Stadia.
