* [name=Roshie] Watch reckless neighbors play with dangerous fireworks they probably are too drunk for
* [name=Danny] Only as of this year - we ate [Hoppin John](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hoppin%27_John)!

:memo: What would you like lab members' help with?
---
> *Please add a bullet point with something you'd like lab members' opinion on.
> You may respond to any of the points before or after the lab meeting, no need to wait until the time slot!*
* [name=Marianne] Cleaning Rick Wednesdays (Audrey)
* [name=Audrey] (mainly for causal globs people) figuring out how to change the paradigm to compensate for Castor's scotoma
* [name=bevil] does anyone know if blindsight comes with some color discrimination abilities? There are S-cone signals that make their way to the SC, and that have been implicated in blindsight, but I do not know of any explicit tests of color discrimination in blindsight
* [name=bevil] do I have a HackMD password?
* Not unless you have set it up yourself! (Though you shouldn't need one unless you really want one) [name=Danny]
*
*
:wrench: Logistical Discussions Required
---
> *Need to discuss use of equipment or schedule a future event? Put a note here.*
* [name=Audrey] what monkeys are getting surgery when? which ones are already scheduled, and who will be coordinating which ones?
* [name=Audrey] Related: list of items for Castor's new chamber surgery
* [name=Audrey] review of PPE usage **NEXT WEEK**
* [name=Felix] How are we coordinating Jocamo's recordings? and who wants to observe the process?
* I definitely want to come and join to get first hand experience of vprobes and your plexon setup :heart_eyes: [name=Marianne]
* I would also be interested in observing the setup and process [name=Shriya]
* [name=Danny] Where do the guides live? / Where do we want the guides to live?
* great and important point. I don't know where things are/duplicates etc. (google drive vs server) but it would be great to have a single accessible location, and a list of guides. [name=Marianne] **NEXT WEEK**
*
:open_book: Agenda & Notes
---
> *This meeting is an open agenda.
> The discussion points will be curated from the sections above.
> The notetaker(s) will add the notes here as we go. :memo:*
* Everybody should put their birthdays on the calendar as repeating events.
* We need a photo from Hannah, Shriya, Danny and Felix. Send to Bevil. Bevil will work out how to open that cabinet.
* Scheduling surgeries
* Jocamo's tomorrow (Bevil, Audrey and James)
* Next surgeries
* Castor (moving chamber to other hemisphere)
* Get guide that Tessa put together for microelectrode recording, and back project where we want to put the chamber. Find the guide, and then contact Bevil.
* Stuff we need:
* New chamber
* Make sure that the grids we have fit the new chamber
* Find the grids (there are at least 2, one angled)
* The targets
* Experiment mostly ready to go
* Be ready to do quick analysis
* Felix has done some of this, he might be able to do a 'tour'.
* [name=Marianne] Also happy to go through how you spike sort Felix. I was thinking of going kilosort but really not decided yet.
* Check whether the grids we have will accomodate the [V-probes](https://plexon.com/products/neural-probes-store/) (probably do, but worth double checking)
* [Difference between probe types](https://plexon.com/products/frequently-asked-questions/#1558618920533-16245042-f2ae)
* Wooster and Jeeves
* Cleaning up granulation tissue of the edges
* Rick
* Ask when we could get to surgery to Denise and Amber to fill the hole and remove the catheters (avoid risking having a air bubble and since the animal would have to be anesthetized anyways to remove some acrylic).
* Logistics for recording from Jocamo
* Surgey tomorrow, do we start Weds/Thurs?
* Depends on Felix health
* But if the surgery is quick, then he has the rest of the day to recover. If it's longer, then wait.
* Main motivation for cleaning the day after is to get rid of the blood clot. Quicker that happens the easier that it is to clear out the granulation tissue and blood clot.
* If there is any bone drilling he will not work the next day, but will need cleaning.
* Bevil: in Germany they don't anaesthetise, bone has no nerve endings. If there's no periosteum it is fine.
* Jocamo - he only gets lethargic when he goes 3 days without cleaning. Exudate build up? Plan: clean more frequently.
* Schedule for Jocamo recording
* We will chair Jocamo at 8am and try to record until 2pm most days
* Is it OK for Audrey to clean Rick on Wednesdays
* Yes
:calendar: Finishing Up
