# Forum and OpenGov Navigation Chat Agent Proposal **Problem:** --- Navigating the Polkadot forum has become increasingly difficult due to the sheer number of posts. Simple search terms are not efficient, making it hard to determine if someone has already posted something similar or to find related discussions. Additionally, it’s challenging to see what specific users have contributed or are currently working on, which is important for collaboration. The same issue exists with exploring OpenGov: too many proposals, making it hard to track what’s been rejected and why, and keeping up with governance updates is overwhelming. **Idea:** --- Develop a chat agent that periodically (every week or every two weeks) retrains on Polkadot forum and OpenGov data. This agent would allow users to ask questions and get accurate, context-aware responses based on the latest information. 1. **For Forum Navigation:** * **Enhanced Search**: Users could easily check if a similar post exists before creating a new one. * **Related Content Discovery**: The agent would help users find posts related to their queries or ideas more effectively. * **User Activity Insights**: It would be easier to track what specific users have done, their ongoing projects, and their opinions, which is valuable for collaboration. 2. **For OpenGov Navigation:** * **Proposal Tracking**: The agent would help users navigate OpenGov proposals, showing what has been rejected and why. * **Timely Updates**: Users could stay informed about the latest governance discussions and decisions more easily. This solution would make it much easier to navigate the forum and OpenGov, helping users save time and engage more effectively with the community. **Opportunity**: --- While there is clear potential for this tool to benefit the Polkadot community, I don’t currently know of others working on similar AI projects within the community, aside from a few examples like the Substrate documentation chatbot and Christian Casini’s work on DappForge (Substrate Copilote). For example, a chatbot was released to help users with Substrate documentation (link: https://chatbot-production-04a2.up.railway.app/), but it is not currently usable by the community. When asked "How can I use the zombienet," it responded with "I'm unable to access my information. Try again later." While I believe there has been significant effort behind this bot, it is not yet effective, though those involved in its development could provide valuable insights. Given the complexity of this task, a ***professional approach is likely necessary***. While I respect the effort behind non-profit projects, this is a challenging problem that requires sustained effort and resources. A more professional model, perhaps releasing the tool as open source while finding a way for the builders to monetize it (like Christian dAppForge's approach), might be the best way forward. This would ensure the project has the backing it needs to succeed and deliver real value to the community. **Disclaimer:** --- I don't intend to tackle this problem myself, as I am currently too busy with KwickBit, but I believe it is a massive problem for the community that deserves attention.
