# About the Eastern Townhall
## EASTERN TOWNHALL
The Eastern Townhall is a community-driven initiative growing Cardano in the Eastern Hemisphere and Asia. We want to build a truly global economy and society. Our focus is on making the hard, possible. About meeting people where they are, in their country, their language and their culture.
A place, a time, and a space where:
* We can build knowledge, share information, connect and support each other.
* Language and cultural barriers are not an impediment to participation.
* Learn how to apply the technology, and community, to address local needs.
* Show how to use Cardano to increase economic wellbeing.
* Enrich Cardano's ecosystem with our stories, our energy, and our perspectives.
The eastern hemisphere, East and Southeast Asia region unite culturally and linguistically a lot of diverse countries. With a population of over 1.6 Billion, our goal is to grow Cardano. We are an active part of the grassroots community ecosystem. Our cornerstone event is the weekly Eastern Townhalls. But we are doing more, so much more:
* Make knowledge and content accessible to as many cultures as possible.
* Host different events where community members come together
* Create bridges to underrepresented groups
* Integrate local perspectives to enrich the Catalyst Community.
* Listen, gathering opinions and data to help us all understand.

## SCHOOL
Catalyst School is the place to enhance the impact of Catalyst by improving everyones contribution. The core of Catalyst is made of:
1. Proposers: people with ideas and projects seeking validation, support, and funding.
2. Voters: ADA holders who decide which Catalyst proposals are important.
3. Community Advisors (CAs): People who assess proposals, facilitating better decission making.
4. Veteran Community Advisors (vCAs): Skilled CAs who nuture new CA and fine tune assessments.
5. Engaged Community Members: every person who helps proposers and contribute to the ecosystem.
In order for Catalyst to flourish all these roles need to contribute the best way they can. What if there was a place:
* Where every community member could join, learn more about Catalyst and meet existing members.
* Find advice on promoting their ideas and projects and ideas.
* Discover what is important to understand when applying for funds.
* CAs can understand their role and rules for assessing a proposal
* Use tools for assessing and fulfilling a CAs tasks
* Interact with vCAs to gain more experience with case studies of good/bad assessments.
* Learn how the voting works.
This place is what we have been building: The Catalyst School!
## SWARM
The SWARM is a community-driven *grass roots* initiative, supporting Cardano in its mission to build a universal decentralized system that provides access to a global society and economy.
* CONNECT: We bring the community together and unleash its full potential.
* INCLUDE: We build bridges that connects the diversity in the Cardano community.
* EMPOWER: We encourage everyone to act and lead by creating space to do so.
The SWARM is the result of individuals and groups. Each bringing a new quality. We interacts in and around the Cardano Community, focused on linking individuals, projects and communities to Project Catalyst. Our activities are characterized by the following qualities:
* Listen, gathering opinions and data.
* Host different events where the community members come together
* Reach out to underrepresented groups in the community
* Integrate local communities to enrich a diverse, multi-cultural Catalyst Community.
* Moderate the community discussions in a way that empowers individuals to further engage.
* Explore novel ways for decentralized governance based upon practice oriented methods.
* Document and track our activity, building trust and transparency.
* Reproduce ourselves, creating a diverse co-existence and collaboration of several swarms.
The active parts in SWARM are categorized in three groups.
* Hive: Those taking the highest personal initiative and responsibility in the total Swarm actions.
* Swarm Veterans: Highly dedicated supporters that have been constantly following the events over a period of time, taking action by hosting rooms and moderating sessions and discussions.
* Swarm Supporters: Engaged supporters who are repeatedly active in meetings and discussions.
There are no roles, no leaders. Rather establishing people themselves over time, proved through participation. How do you become a bricklayer? Start laying bricks.
