# The Problem

## The Problem
- Waste paper
- Too many signatures
- In Thursday's club, each homeroom teacher has to sign 14 copies.
- Each club teacher has to sign 9 copies.
- Paper usage: `14*9 = 126`

Note:
- Every thursday, there are 126 pieces of paper being passed around the school, and most of the time everyone is present. That is highly inefficient.

## The Solution

- Paperless
- Immediately notifies the homeroom teacher of each student's location.

Note:
- It also can save the time of 副班長

## Project Status
- After you log in, all your classes will show (currently only Bilingual Dept.)
- This online system will be tested alongside the paper system for a week.
- If the beta test is successful, the Bilingual Dept. will most likely continue to use this system, cancelling all paper attendance systems.

Note:
- You might not know it, but Mr. Tsai spent a lot of time on this project. As you can see, he worked till 3 in the morning on a Monday.
- In the end, we debugged and typed the data ourselves.

## Logging In
You should have recieved a paper showing your default username and password.

Head to [abs.aaronlee.tech](https://abs.aaronlee.tech/) to log in.

Note:
- I know that the username is pretty long. I'll talk about how to change it later.

## Selecting Subuser
After you have logged in, you should be greeted by this page:

Note:

HR stands for homeroom, and GP stands for grouped classes.
Just select the class you are marking attendance for in the dropdown. You will be redirected to the main attendance page.

## Grouped vs Non-Grouped Classes
1. Please ask the homeroom's deputy leader to use the homeroom account for non-grouped classes.
2. If it is a group class (such as Club, AP), please use your personal account to mark attendance.

## Special Classes
11H-History, 11P-History, 12H-Physics, 12H-Math, and AP_Electives

Note:

- Because some people have self-study sessions instead of classes, we created separate subaccounts for these classes. The homeroom teacher has access to those who need to self-study.

## Please go into each class and confirm that the students in it is corect.

Note:

- Saw Mr. Evan's note regarding 912 Jewel and Cindy.
- Tell me if you teach more classes than it shows, or it shows more classes than you teach.

## Marking Attendance
- The date closest to today will be selected.
- <span style="color: green;">`φ`</span> -> `LATE`
- <span style="color: red;">`X`</span> -> `ABSENT`
- No selection -> `ON TIME` and `PRESENT`

Note:

- In homeroom mode, the current period will be highlighted yellow.

## Submitting Attendance
- <span style="background: blue; color: white;">Confirm</span> will show a signature pad.

- Sign, enter notes, and submit
- <span style="background: red; color: white;">You cannot change what you have submitted</span>

Note:
- After you finished marking attendance, scroll down and click the confirm button (the confirm button of group classes is also on the bottom. This will trigger an area for you to sign. If you have any specific message to send to the homeroom teacher and student affairs office, you can enter them in the notes input area. After you have signed and finished entering the notes, press “Submit” to finish marking the attendance.
- If you have a double-period, you need to mark the attendance twice.

## Homeroom Teachers:
- Cannot mark more attendance after the homeroom teacher confirms.

Note:
- There is an area that shows all the teachers' signatures in that day. After school that day, please check all the attendance data and press `Homeroom Confirm` to finalize and submit data.

# Usernames and Passwords

## Changing the Password
- We recommend you change the username and password.
- To change it, head to [abs.aaronlee.tech/chgPassword](https://abs.aaronlee.tech/chgPassword) after you logged in.

Note:
- I recommend you change the username and password after you made sure everything is correct.
- The default username is pretty long, and the password is pretty insecure.
- If you don't want to change the username, entering the same username is also ok.
- The username will be used for verification in the event that you forget your password. Use your email address.
- I cannot see your password.

## Forgot Password
- Click `Forgot Password` on the homepage

Note:

In the event that you forget your password, press “Forgot Password” on the homepage. Fill in your email (username) and submit. The system will send a password reset email to your email address (username). Simply follow the email’s directions to reset your password.
