Personalized Fitness App - **Description**: Many people have ran into the problem of not having access to the equipment that an exercise calls for so they just dont hit that muscle group for the day. This app will offer users subsitute exercises that hit the same muscle group with the equipment that they do have access. Include recommended videos and add spotify. - **Category:** Health & Fitness - **Mobile:** People use the app to find a daily/weekly workout based on their equiptment, wanted exercises, and level of experience/fitness. The mobile app allows user to get everything they need for a workout from their phone. - **Story:** Users can get personalized workout recommendations with specific videos to follow and while listening to spotify. - **Market:** Anyone who goes to the gym or wants to go. People who workout at home. - **Habit:** Used while at the gym or when expecting to go - **Scope:** This app would allow users to input their equiptment and then retrieve a list of exercises and the accompanying videos on how to perform them witht the equiptment they have access to. 2. Food tinder app - **Description**: A tinder app where you swipe for food. User "matches" with a food if they swipe right and the restaurant is close to them. App will then offer to navigate them to the restaurant or book a reservation if applicable. The app will access online API for restaurants. - **Category:** Food - **Mobile:** The app provides an easy and fun way to find food near you. - **Story:** Users can get personalized restaurant recommendations based on their food preference. - **Market:** Anyone who eats food. - **Habit:** Used when looking at places to eat at. - **Scope:** This app would allow anyone that likes food to find places to eat near them. 3. Pantry/Recipe app - **Description**: User inputs their pantry and is returned a list of recipe recommendations that best fits the ingredients they already have - **Category:** Food - **Mobile:** The app recommends recipes given a user's pantry - mobile makes it more convenient. - **Story:** User can find recipes based on the ingredients they already have at home. - **Market:** Anyone who likes to cook/bake. - **Habit:** Used when deciding what to cook. - **Scope:** This app would allow anyone that wants to cook to find recipes. 4. Steps to location bragger - **Description**: Do you love bragging about your number of steps per day? For those who do this app will allow users to input their desired destination from their current location and the app will return the most inconvenient route that requires the greatest number of steps (will return number steps to to location and minutes and provide multiple bad routes ranked by number of steps required in descending order). - **Category:** Pretentious Fitness - **Mobile:** The app recommends walking routes such that your step count is met. App makes it easy to use when on the go. - **Story:** User can find walking routes to their location based on the number of steps they want to accomplish in a certain day. - **Market:** Anyone who walks and also enjoys bragging - **Habit:** Used when trying to hit a goal number of steps. - **Scope:** This app would allow anyone that wants to reach a certain step goal per day to have routes mapped out for them. 5. Subscription manager - **Description**: This app combines all of your video streaming accounts into one platform (Netflix, Hulu, Amazon prime, etc.). The app also reminds User when the subscription bill needs to be paid and how much is due. - **Category:** Entertainment/Finance - **Mobile:** The app combines all entertainment platforms into one convenient platform. - **Story:** User can view all subscription content on one platform and watch movies/series from there. - **Market:** Anyone who watches shows. - **Habit:** Used when trying to track subscriptions - **Scope:** This app would allow anyone to keep track of their subscriptions. Christian's Favorite Apps: 1. Robinhood 2. CBS Sports 3. Instagram Tess' fav apps: 1. Amazon prime 2. Instagram 3. Discord Belinda's Favorite Apps: 1. FB Messenger 2. Instagram 3. Netflix ### Instagram - **Category:** Photo & Video / Social - **Mobile:** Website is view only, uses camera, mobile first experience. - **Story:** Allows users to share their lives in pictures and enhance their content with filters - **Market:** Anyone that takes pictures could enjoy this app. Ability to follow and hashtag based on interests and categories allows users with unique interests to engage with relevant content. - **Habit:** Users can post throughout the day many times. Features like "Stories" encourage more candid posting as well. Users can explore endless pictures in any category imaginable whenever they want. Very habbit forming! - **Scope:** Instagram started out extremely narrow focused, just posting pics and viewing feeds. Has expanded to a somewhat larger scope including "Instagram Stories" (a la SnapChat) and messenger features. ### Youtube - **Category:** Video / Social - **Mobile:** Has all the features of the website and unique gestures on mobile. - **Story:** Allows users to share and watch content through video clips of any category - **Market:** Anyone that enjoys watching or creating videos can enjoy this app. Ability to subscribe to users and like certain videos. - **Habit:** Users can post/view throughout the day many times. It is used by people of all ages and has content that appeals to most, if not all, groups. - **Scope:** YouTube started out as a casual platform to share opinions and funny videos. It has grown into a monetized platform that includes a wide range of content. ### Spotify - **Category:** Music Streaming - **Mobile:** Has all the features of the website and is more convenient on mobile since it is a portable device - **Story:** Allows Artists to share music and users to share playlists - **Market:** Anyone that enjoys listening to music or creating music can enjoy this app. Users can follow artists, create playlists, and share playlists with other users. - **Habit:** Users can create their own playlists, listen to others' playlists, and get their news from various podcasts at any time throughout the day. - **Scope:** Spotify started out by only offering users a limited amount of streaming time and song plays but has grown into allowing users to stream music for an indefinite amount of time without ads with the use of their premium subscription. ## New App Ideas Christian's app ideas: * 1. Options visualizer for stocks * pull the current price of a stock using an API and then allow users to input their desired strike price/expiration date. The app will then generate a map of their expected profits/losses leading up to their contract's expiration date. * 2. Unpopular opinion app * Allow users to publish their unpopular opinions with an upvoting/comment system where people like the post if they disagree. Their will be a sorting feature to see the most unpopular opinion of the week/month * 3. Dog breed identifier * Ever wondered what the breed of a dog was when seeing one? With this app the users can input characteristics of the dog and then the app will then ask additional questions. It will either return one breed or narrow it down to a few (confidence interval for stretch) * 4. Cheapest pizza finder * Are you a broke college student? Want cheap pizza near you? This app will use the Yelp API to locate pizza places (and scrape menu items) within a user defined proximity and then display the restaurants with the cheapest pizza in order. * 5. Weird food combinations * App that allows users to post weird food combinations that surprisingly work (App will be prepopulated with weird food combinations that are deemed worthy enough) * 6. Allow users to input their location and desired date to go to a concert and return a list of artists who will be playing on/around that date and where their venues will be (Bandintown API) * 10. Belinda's app ideas: 1. Cheapest flights/busses app - input start and end locations and outputs the cheapest travel plan 2. Places to visit near campus app - recommends food/sight-seeing areas near campus 3. Pantry/Recipe app - user inputs their pantry and is returned a list of recipe recommendations that best fits the ingredients they already have 4. Photo editing - user can take/import a photo of their choice and edit their photos given several options (crop, preset filters, changing RBG values, etc) 5. Workout app - suggests several different workouts with a timer that is linked to the spotify api so that songs are played for however long the particular move is 6. Calendar app for college events - university admin can enter all events on the app and students will be able to choose whether to add these to their personal calendar or not. 7. Dining Hall app - students can see what's being offered at the dining hall each day, record & rate what they got, and app lists recommended dish for each day's meals 8. Coffee shop recommendations - recommends nearby coffee shops, users can input ratings with categories such as quality of food, wifi, service, etc. can also filter by distance. 9. Office Hours app - students can enter their question and a zoom link for TAs to join, TAs can go through the queue in order and mark questions as resolved once answered. allows multiple classes. 10. Match therapists - match users & therapists given preferences a user inputs and therapists' specialized areas. use GS. Tess' app ideas: 1. Dog walker app - can search for dog walkers for your dog based on their size, your location, and your requirements. 2. Subscription manager - cmbines all of your video streaming accounts into one platform (Netflix, Hulu, Amazon prime, etc.) 3. Smart navigator - GPS app that uses Google maps to plan a roadtrip based on your ultimate destination. 4. Fitness app - pull fitness videos from public API (if that exists) and can personalize a daily workout based on the user's fitness needs and wants. Could also suggest eating habits. 5. Homework app - tracks when assignments are due and can include a calendar feature. Could incorporate spotify so students can listen to music while using the app. 6. Restaurant buddy - a reservation app that connects to some form of reservation SDK such that users can book tables at restaurants nereby. 7. Receipt manager - allows you to keep track of all expenses such as subscriptions, store purchases, and bills. The app will alert you when certain purchaes are due. Might ncorporate a way for users to be able to pay in app? 8. World communication app - an app similar to facebook but based solely on user locaion. People are grouped with people who are currently living or have lived in the saem area as other users. 9. Food tinder app - a tinder app where you swipe for food. User "matches" with a food if they right and the restaurant is close to them. App will then offer to navigate them to the restaurant or book a reservation if applicable. The app will access online API for restaurants. 10. Discussion app - app places you in a discussion rom with other people that want to discuss a certain issue with you.
