Foreigners are not allowed to directly purchase land or property in Bali. Indonesian laws restrict foreigners from owning land. However, there are several options to get around this restriction:

Long-term land lease (Leasehold): This is the most common form of ownership for foreigners. The lease term can be from 25 to 70 years with the possibility of renewal. This allows use of the land and construction on it, but does not grant ownership.

Direct ownership through an Indonesian company (Hak Pakai or "right to use"): This allows owners to control the property through a company registered in Indonesia. However, this requires a complex legal structure and the process can be expensive and complicated.

Buying through a local partner: Some buyers choose this route, entering into an agreement with local citizens. But this option can be risky if the appropriate legal agreements are not formalized.
