# Autonity Bakerloo testnet Press Release (DRAFT)
Building a complex ledger system that can scale to millions of transactions, aligns incentives between diverse participants, complies with applicable regulations and provides great developer experience is extremely hard.
Today, we're excited to share the general availability of Bakerloo, a testnet built on Autonity. Autonity is the blockchain protocol backbone for the Autonity Decentralised Clearing Network (Autonity DCN), a digital asset and smart contract platform for the clearing and settlement of trades in next-generation markets.
Following a private launch, Clearmatics is now inviting technology businesses, digital asset issuers, financial market participants, use case developers, infrastucture providers and end-users to engage with the Bakerloo testnet and provide feedback on the quality, function, and overall experience of the Autonity Protocol.
### What can you do with Autonity Bakerloo
Engaging with the Autonity Bakerloo testnet is a great opportunity to join the Autonity community and contribute to shaping the future of capital markets.
Whether you're a market participant, node operator, digital asset issuer, use-case developer, or service provider, joining the Autonity Bakerloo testnet will allow you to start a node and join the network, develop and deploy applications, design and commercialise services in preparation of the Autonity MainNet launch in the first half of 2021.
### For Digital Asset Issuers
Digital Asset Issuers can integrate with the Autonity Bakerloo testnet to issue and redeem digital assets, including settlement tokens, that applications and use-cases can leverage to discharge their settlement obligations.
To assist Digital Asset Issuers, Clearmatics is making available its Settlement Token Framework, a smart contract application that provides functionality for issuance, redemption and ownership of fungible cryptoassets.
### For Autonity Node Operators
You can set up your own Autonity node or set of Autonity nodes and experiment with its JSON-RPC interface. Node Infrastructure providers can build services to host nodes for the Autonity community. A number of managed services and integration services providers are already engaged.
Validation and staking will be available to node operators in the coming few weeks.
### For Developers
Autonity, through its roots in Ethereum, is designed to enable developers to innovate and deliver use cases and new financial products and asset classes that are only possible through the power of blockchain.
Using the Autonity Bakerloo testnet, developers can also experiment with some of our research work in transaction privacy (Zeth) and digital asset interoperability (Ion).
### For Capital Markets Participants
As an initial use-case deployed on the Autonity Bakerloo testnet, capital markets participants can test and learn more about Clearmatics' Collateral Management Framework for the automation of collateral management in the OTC Derivatives space.
