We have been compromised, Someone infiltrated our headquarters at ENI Tower and
gained access to a secure task stash. The agent appears to be able
to leak information from the inside. As you might know, we as
corporate espionage counterintelligence have deliberately
installed outdated technology with no real networking abilities to minimize
communications. The sole way in and out is a simple monochrome
Vt100 terminal. A scheme must have been developed to encode letters through that
machine and text in unsuspicious ways to bridge all our security protocols.
In fact you might read this message on such a device right now and I
take great risk sending it over this possibly compromised channel. We can't
figure out how information gets leaked. Even under intense
scrutiny the message lines look perfectly fine (except that the ergonomics
department complains about the readability but justified text on a
monospace type display was never practical and ragged right seems to be fine for
everyone but them - but I digress). If we can not pin down the breach there
is a chance that the secret location of our task vault is next. This of
course would be catastrophic. I can't even begin to imagine the fallout a
release of that information would have for the upcoming hunt. Management
could pack their bags, I guess. But so could we. So, here we
are, The analysis of what could cause the leaks must be
our top priority and we need results ASAP as this is a future deciding gig
that we must not fail on. We need all hands on deck for this. The
other departments (notably ergonomic, design, and R&D) are
already sneering at us. Any ideas? CEC Division peace and out.
