# Nouns Esports - 2023 Rosters

tl;dr Continue the mission of spreading the Nouns ⌐◨-◨ meme through esports competition, by supporting top rosters in two of the biggest games in the world.

Currently the team has been funded by the [pod budget](https://nouns.wtf/vote/119) for it's duration. In this time they've competed in 54 matches in 4 months.

The high point of these matches occurred in the Intel Extreme Masters Road to Rio: American RMR in which Nouns vs Imperial peaked at 226,600 unique viewers. This made it the second highest viewed match at the whole event.

#### The Major
Coming up in April, Nouns Esports has another opportunity to compete in an RMR and qualify for the Blast TV Major in Paris, France. CSGO majors occur only twice a year and are one of the biggest opportunities for viewership in gaming. This French Major is the first of the year and the first time Blast or France have ever hosted a major. The major was even acknowledge and announced by the [French President, Emmanuel Macron](https://dotesports.com/counter-strike/news/french-president-macron-reveals-blast-premier-will-host-2023-csgo-major-in-paris).

These majors peak with millions of viewers and highlight the greatest talents in the world.

Qualification to the major would mean the introduction of Nouns stickers to the steam marketplace and a permanent place in CSGO history being cemented in game.

Stickers are in-game items that players can purchase and apply to their weapons as decorations. There is a massive market for these stickers with the CSGO marketplace being deemed the "original NFT market" with the rarest stickers fetching upwards of $80,000-$100,000. The market value of these skins and items are billions of dollars and millions of dollars of volume passes through daily.

Having stickers opens Nouns up to a whole new audience as well where videos showcasing different sticker combo aesthetics gain hundreds of thousands of views monthly. In addition having stickers in game would put Nouns items in front of an estimated 30 million unique CSGO monthly players averaging 1 million concurrent players a day.

On March 5th, Nouns Esports CSGO Qualified for IEM Dallas starting May 29th.
IEM Dallas is an S-Tier event just barely below a major. It pits Nouns against the worlds best international teams, boasting hundreds of thousands of viewers, and over 12.5 million hours watched.
